Hello! I’m a Senior at San Gabriel High School, my current GPA 3.9 and it could go higher after I finish my first semester of Senior’a year. Also, I will retake the SAT on Dec 3 because my score on May was 1070/1600. The only thing I have concerned is the affordable to go to USC because my family is low-income family. I wonder if USC provides free tuition coverage for all 4 years or not? Thank you and have a nice day :).
Did you run the Net price calculator for USC? It should give a decent estimate of your costs. Unless you get your SAT score up into the 1400+ range, you will not need to worry about costs since it is currently a Reach. To be eligible for many of the scholarships, you need to apply to Dec 1.
Full tuition/Full rides are rare so do not count on it. Run the NPC and see what you get.
Good luck and get those scores up.
Thank you so much Gumbymom!
If you do gain admission, USC is committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need… but that does not mean a free ride necessarily. Even if your FAFSA EFC is $0 or near it, you will likely end up with a financial aid package that leaves a few thousand dollars to be dealt with by your family in one form or another… likely some Work Study and some loans and a small expected family contribution toward your education. Even a full tuition scholarship can leave many thousands left to be paid for room/board, books, travel, etc.
Good Luck
