USC and Spring Grade Requests

So, what do you think is the percentage of students who get a spring grade request and then get admitted (assuming GPA stays consistent and even goes up)? Obviously, a request for spring grades is good news but does it mean you're basically in if your grades are strong for the semester? Is it still a toss up? Lets hear your opinions.

I think that you are as good as in.

I think that if your grades stayed consistent or went up then you're in and I hope thats the case becuase I got a 3.75 this semester cum. is a 3.73. Fight On! I hope they get back to us soon.

I hope that this is the case with spring grades...although I have heard of quite a few people to get in without the requests...I think that spring grades solidify their decision...it shows that you haven't slacked off this spring semester...

USC requested spring grades for me, but since my grades aren't posted yet, I haven't sent them my grades, but I still got accepted.

I hope, I hope, I hope that happens to me...

does anyone know how long it takes from the time they receive your grades for it to reflect on the sig acct?

They said it takes about 2 weeks from when they get your final grades to get an admission decision..so, I would say that it takes a week or so to show up on the SIG account

what is this sig account everyone speaks of?

A SIG account stands for Student Information Gateway...It is a place on the USC website that you can sign in (after you have a USC ID number and activate your accout) and check to see if USC has all of your necessary admission documents and financial aid documents...the web address for the SIG is:

http://sig.usc.edu/index.cfm?

That was how many students got notification of their spring grade request without getting the paper notification in the mail...it showed up as missing in there SIG account.

Just note that no admission decisions are released online or in the SIG account....decisions can only be gotten in the mail...

Anyone submit their final spring grades and then got rejected? How common is this? Anyone know somebody who this has happened to?

check out the USC transfer board...sadly it has happened to a few people...

When I applied for Fall 08 (no ********) I had 4 units completed. It was Geology 1.

The other classes I took were all pre-reqs so they didnt count obviously.
I was taking one winter course that was English 1A.

My GPA at that time was a 3.3 cum and 3.0 transferable. I still received a request for spring grades. I am thinking it was my application essay and my letter of recommendation from my eng professor (USC Alumni)

JustDrop, how is that possible?
