I’m interested in applying to USC’s Annenberg School to study communications with a focus in media, politics and government-- how important is previous experience (I’m in high school) for this major specifically? I’ve been involved with a number of political campaigns, groups, and government programs and conferences, but not any media or newspaper/yearbook organizations. Will this affect my chances of admission to Annenberg, or would my EC’s still be considered on par with more traditional activities? Ideally, I want to work in advocacy journalism doing research, writing and analysis, but nothing with reporting, and I don’t want to major in journalism. Thanks!
