I noticed that the deadline for Scholarship Consideration is December 01, and I'm not sure if my additional materials will be completed by then. Are the scholarships awarded only the following:

There are more than a dozen scholarships available through USC if you apply before the December 1 deadline including some you did not mention here like Deans, Alumni, Scions, Town and Gown, etc.

Just get your part done- the application- and send it in even if you do not have all of your additional materials available. You just never know and you may be very pleasantly surprised. It doesn't hurt anything to try.

Discussion took place here last year about the due date of recs and other materials . We found (by calling USC) that although the due date for the application was Dec. 1 for scholarship consideration with no exceptions, the supplemental material could come in slightly after that date.

Why don't one (or both) of you call and see what they say this year and post here?

It is common for required info to come in after the 12/1 deadline--like your first semester grades. Just get your app in before 12/1 for consideration. You can follow up with the adcom office to see what material (recs, etc) may still be due and prompt your recommenders to get them in asap.

Last year the very first acceptances were received in late January. Acceptances received this early, and into the following two weeks or so were those which were being considered for the two biggest merit scholarships, Trustee and Presidential. Therefore I recommend that you get the additional materials in a decent time before January 10th, probably mid December or so at the latest.
For the Alumna, Scions, Town and Gown etc, there is a separate application which includes a short essay to write (at least this was the case last year). I don't remember where the application is on the USC site, but if you google Trojan Alumna Scholarships you might find it.
This does not apply to the Deans. To be considered for that one you just need to get the application in by Dec 1, and notifications are during acceptances, but after Trustee and Pres. have been invited to interview.

Yes, I would get your letters of reccomendation in by the Dec. 1st deadline too. Even if you don't think that you are eligible for a scholarship, I would still highly reccomend applying by this date.

The deadline is important. There are scholarships from the various schools at SC, alumni club scholarships, for women Panhellenic scholarships, support groups scholarships and many others.
Yes, these are competitive. However, it is a great opportunity to obtain funds.
