USC Appeals 2013

@Random: you should just go by the letter they sent out; the site may be referring to a previous year’s due date.

@Filmgurl: you have to upload and submit it via USConnect. Good news, since this only takes a few minutes :)

*Just saw that you can also fax it, if you’d like

i submitted one and a half pages for the letter. is that alright?

@USCtrojan123 - I wondered the same thing! I had about 1.5 pages, but ended up cutting it down. Wanted to play it safe. At the end of the day I would think, and hope, that if the content is compelling, they’re able to appreciate it anyway.

What did you guys decide to talk about in your letters? And did any of you commit to other schools yet? Hopefully we get some good news in the next month or so :slight_smile: And if not, I still don’t doubt that any of you have the potential to succeed regardless of we all end up!

Did anyone hire a lawyer to write their appeal?

I dont really think hiring a lawyer is common. Wouldn’t be perceived as genuine teenage thought by an admissions counselor…maybe too haughty and/or stylized. Though I’m sure lawyers have good ideas to offer.

Hey everyone :slight_smile: I appealed as well. What do you think our odds are this year as opposed to last year’s high appeal-success rate?

@Luke986
Not that great I’m guessing. It was because USC joined the Commapp last year and they rejected a lot of people so they accepted way more appeals.
I really hope we become those lucky few. I can’t think of going to college anywhere else, I’m in love with this school :(

@USCtrojan123
I hope so too. It’s such an amazing school… a little over 2 weeks of waiting left.

@Luke986

I have finals next week which go on till May 18th :frowning: I really hope this is my silver lining. We have to make it!

May 10th, right? And aren’t the emails traditionally sent out in the evening?

The appeal thread last year seemed to be much more active than the one this year. Maybe not as many people decided to appeal? Guess we’ll find out the results in a week and a half or so. May 10th. I’m wondering that too, when the emails will be sent out^

I agree, there’s definitely not as much activity. I’m pretty sure the 2012 thread talked about many of the emails coming in around 6-10 pm. I’ll re-read it and post back on here if I find a more definite answer! Of course, we’ll have to account for time zones too

Okay, just read thru page 14-28 haha and I saw the first email come at 8:00 (east coast time) and some of the last come around 12-1 (not sure which time zone). So approx. 8-12ish for last years applicants.

Hey guys I’m part of the appeal crew as well. If I may, can i ask what your guys’ stats are and what school/program you’re appealing for? I’ll start:
