USC Appeals - Class of 2022

Thread for all those in Class of 2022 who are planning to appeal their USC admissions decision

Would it be bad to email my admissions officer and try to see why I didn’t get in, so I can address it my appeal letter?

I am so sad, USC has been my dream school. While I am rejected, I saw so many saying they might not even going. Btw, SAT 1560 straight A and tons of leadership community services etc… can anybody tell me in the past few years, how many finally got accepted by appealing to USC? I will decide if I shall waste my time.

If you get accepted through appeal, do you get to start in the fall? Or would they automatically make you a spring admit?

@collegetogo111 The rejection letter came with FAQs which stated usually 30-50 out of 1,000 appeals will overturn a admissions decision.

@lro375 I don’t know. My guess would be fall or spring are possible - probably whenever they have a seat.

Thanks. I guess I was too depressed to finish reading the letter. So, there is a slim chance of 3% - 5%.

Also, does anyone who was accepted/know anyone accepted through appeal know how long you would have to accept the offer?

@lro375 I don’t know but my guess would be just a few days.

I applied to USC through the Questbridge program, and I was wondering if they’d review that again if I appealed?

Would indicating that I am capable of paying full tuition help my chances? Of course, I plan to write a legitimate essay for my appeal. Also, what counts as “compelling” information?

It pisses me off that people who have EXPLICITLY SAID if they got into USC, they wouldn’t go, still apply and waste a ton of spots.

Hey guys! I got rejected too but offered TTP. If any of you are in the same position, join our Facebook group “Transfer Trojan Plan Class of 2022”

I’m appealing…hoping for the best! I have a lot to tell them lol. Would it be bad if I made my font size 11?

What would you even tell them?

I have a lot of personal issues/obstacles not on my application.

Also - what is a good time to send in the appeal by?

does anyone know anyone who has successfully appealed to USC? I’m trying to find people who have successfully appealed but haven’t been able to so far. I was rejected yesterday. I applied for the Film and TV Production major and I think I was turned down for my poor grades even though I have a ton of film experience. Still extremely sad about it. What are ya’ll planning on writing in your appeals?Since it’s only allowed to be 1 page long I’m a little worried

calibound the letter says you should send them in by April 6, looks like i’ll be spending my spring break agonizing over the letter :frowning:

I plan on writing mine about my medical condition (even though it was in my Common App essay- I plan to go into more detail). I also plan on writing about my school’s ECs and AP classes. They don’t have many clubs or anything and they don’t have many AP classes. Next year they are getting rid of them all for some reason. My school also didn’t put me in honors classes my freshman year by mistake. I should have been put in them based on my entrance test scores. This messed up weighted GPA and reduced the amount of AP classes/exams I took.
