I’m applying online, do I need to send a transcript with that “transcript request form”?

If I’m set to have my scores sent to them after the December SAT, is that fine?

When should I send AP scores? Do I need to rush them?

i'm applying to USC, but i am very dissapointed with their application. It's very confusing and there are typo's on the section where you report your grades and classes. What i did is gave the transcript request form to the registrar of my school and she sent it for me, sealed and everything. I didnt send my AP scores, and i dont think it would help you unless you are borderline.

I agree andrew-the USC app. is terrible. I was wondering the same thing about the transcript. I think I wiill also have my GC send it in with request form.

I e-mailed them about a UCLA sumemr course I did for credit-it was for acting. I got 8 units and was graded in 3 classes. I asked if I should include it in college level courses-but they e-mailed back and said just to include it under summer experiences in my EC info.

What should I do. If I got in and they thought I was withholding info. it could be a problem...

Primab, if that's what they told you to do, then there shouldn't be a problem.

Also, this is probably a really dumb question, but for the Activity Summary do I need to write an essay, or can I list things, even in bullet form? It's very vague...

The transcript is part of your app, so you hand that in with your app whenever you wish to apply. Is it just me, or does the online application lag?

GLM-I think you should just list the EC's-I don't think they would want an essay. Maybe I am wrong-but I am going to list with a brief explanation.

This whole thing is the biggest pain in........

andrew1218 or anyone who can answer this: for the transcript request form, what exactly do you put after "Major?" I don't think it is for intended major so do I leave it blank?

Also, is anyone have a lot of problems filling out the course section of the online part?

Or if you are doing the paper app, how exactly do we fill out our Academic History when the 2nd semester column has a huge typo (where the grade column is full of the grade #s for 3rd semester / summer classes) ? Are we supposed to get a new/revised app?

my advice to all: download the paper app and mail it. i gave up on the online version today, and the downloadable app doesn't have drop down menus.

My D spoke with admissions about the academic history "typo". They said just to squeeze in 2nd semester grades after the course name. I can't believe that a school wouldn't catch something like that before having a million copies made. I'll bet someone got yelled at...!

Is it too late to get started on my USC application this week? I didn't think test scores were due until Jan. 10. (Of course, I didn't even know the scholarship-consideration application was due Dec. 10 until a couple days ago.)

Of the five colleges I applied to, my experience with USC's process has been the worst. I emailed four of the five schools (including USC) early in September asking them what to do if I was planning on enrolling in a language program during my gap year which :might: issue credits. UNC-CH, NU and UWM gave me clear, prompt answers. USC's email was short, bordering on rude, and didn't answer my question at all.

I know this has nothing to do with your post but I really needed to say that. Whew. :D

I've decided that USC has such a difficult application because it is a test. If you do not follow the many instructions perfectly you are eliminated right away and it saves them the trouble of reading your essay--which is one page but double spaced, yet up to 700 words????

I haven't had that many problems with the online application yet. The only thing that I can't solve is that I accidently wanted to type in SAT II scores but found out that USC doesn't want them from me now. Now I can't cancel them on the online application. Anyone have the same problem? And I don't understand why the essay has to be double spaced?!

Yeah, how can we possibly double-space an essay and have it be 500-700 words on one page at a reasonable font-size? I called USC and asked, and the guy who answered said "yeah, it's okay if it goes a little over a page" but all of his answers to my questions were vague like that, and in the FAQ, it stresses that being one page is important.

500-700 very short words will fit on one page double-spaced. They want us to be concise in our word choice? I know less is more... but I think that's going too far.
