USC business transfer

I am planning to go usc marhsall and i am transferring from cc. the problem is right now my acctg class i receive grade c and my current gpa is 2.8. Can i still able to make it to usc by next fall if i get an A for my other acctg class and rest of the class? Help me plz

I noticed you said your goal was to make it to USC by next fall, which would mean you needed to apply this spring; did you apply already?

not yet. Currently my gpa is still low to be consider for usc and i hope that this spring semester in cc could boost my gpa. therefore, i probably apply during spring. the deadline for fall 2012 is feb 1.

Oh ok, I see! How many transferable credits do you have so far? And how many do you predict you’ll have completed by the time you transfer?

Depending on that, and how well you do in your classes from now on, you could definitely bring it up. It’s just that how much it’ll be brought up by is how many more units you will be taking and how many the 2.8 avg accounts for.

Make sure you get in some EC’s/work experience, since they really want to see why you want to go there and get a feel for who you really are.

right now i have already done 35 units and i planned to complete more than 60 units before i transfer to usc. i just feel that i have small chance of of going in as USC is rather a competitive school. Btw i took some non tranferable classes, do these courses include in the gpa that i need to state when i apply?

USC Marshall has an average of a 3.8 GPA for transfers. You are going to have to get that GPA way way up to be even considered. Also make sure you do there pre-reqs and do a bunch of EC. Go join clubs and be a part of your school.

USC is tough to get into. Good luck :)
