Got a mailout from USC today about Care Packages that can be sent throughout the year. Looks like a fun idea. Anyone had experience with this
last year?

S remembers waiting on line at the mailbox area to pick up the Halloween box I sent him (homemade) and the kids getting that mailing liked his stuff better..but your mileage may vary. You might be better off getting them some gift certificate/cards for local eats if you want to send something...that was S's favorite gift stuff during the year. Moe's is right nearby,Barnes and Noble cards can be used for coffee, etc at the bookstore,California Dreamng is nearby (they will sell you a card by phone)Mellow Mushroom in the Vista....if they have transportation, theres lots of chain restaurants in the Harbison Rd area where the movies are as well.

When I received the care package flyer I thought it was a great idea, but I have to agree with Cathymee.....you get more for your money if you make your own care packages. I found my d and her friends really appreciated her grandmothers fudge and choc chip cookies Sonic is another popular place for shakes after the football games and for late night snacks. Sonic has a gift card available.

I forgot about Sonic..one of my S's faves especially for the late nights and cheap prices...
