USC Class of 2017 Applicants!

Curious

-Its going to be online this year.

The USC admissions twitter keeps saying by April 1. Someone asked if they would be mailed March 27 and they just repeated that so Iā€™m thinking they are mailing them the 30th or 31st. The waiting is killing me!

So weā€™re going to receive the notification on our portals first?

Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone (or everyone) got the new financial aid box on usconnect? I did and it says Iā€™m eligible for the Satisfactory Academic Progress? Does everyone get that??

Cellogirl95 - what does this mean - Iā€™m eligible for the Satisfactory Academic Progress? did you call your counselor ?

Purpose of Satisfactory Academic Progress Regulations
To be eligible for federal, state and university aid, students are required by the U.S. Department of Education and the state of California to maintain satisfactory academic progress toward their degree objectives. In compliance with prescribed regulations, USC has established guidelines designed to promote timely advancement toward a specific degree objective.

You can find out more from here

[USC Catalogue: Undergraduate Education: Financial Aid : Satisfactory Academic Progress](http://www.usc.edu/dept/publications/cat2010/undergraduate/fin_aid_sap.html)

Not sure the implication to an undergraduate applicant.

Hi metoyou! On Usconnect I have a new financial aid box that, when I open the window, has a green check mark next to ā€œSatisfactory Academic Progress.ā€ I guess itā€™s not really that important thoughā€¦
Thank you simonip for the details!!

I have that as well! I donā€™t think itā€™s an indication of admission though  someone confirm?

I have that too. I think they put that on everyoneā€™s portal.

i have a red exclamation mark kinda thing. maybe coz i didnt apply for finaid?

Confirmed. The financial aid office will not provide admissions information and changes to the financial aid status page are system updates to prepare for the first week of April. All applicants will see the system updates.

Correct.

Correct. Those who did not apply for aid will have a red triangle with an exclamation mark and the word, ā€œApplication.ā€ If you click on the black triangle to the right of that message, it will drop down and display the reason for the red triangle. In your case it will say,

ITā€™S OFFICIAL!!!

@USCAdmission just tweeted:
ā€œ1st-Yr Applicants: Admission decisions will be sent by postal mail on 3/26 and will be available online via USConnect beginning 3/29.ā€

I AM SO ANXIOUS!!! Now the decision is do I check it online on the 29th while Iā€™m out of town with my whole family or wait until the 30th when Iā€™m home and find out via the mail???

Online or Snail Mail? If its acceptance its priority mail (from past posts) if it is denial it is 1st class. I think depending on where you live, it would be too hard to ignore the mail box if it is sitting there waiting prior to the 29th. #10 envelope is no bueno :frowning:

Now the question is what time will they be released online?

AHHHHHH. I CANā€™T TAKE THIS WAIT. I have a countdown going on my phoneā€¦ Iā€™m officially a freak.

^ Iā€™m thinking about doing the same thing! I am nervous, excited, and anxious at the same time! This waiting game is not fun at all! lol

Every day is agonizing!

Iā€™ve just accepted the fact that I probably wonā€™t make it in, although Iā€™m still holding on to a sliver of hope. It kinda works out, because then I donā€™t want to countdown as much.

USC releases decisions so soon (cue heart attack)! Will someone help me figure out my chances? Itā€™s my dream school.

*Iā€™m not sure if this makes a difference, but I think I had a really strong interview, and I told my interviewer that USC is my top choice school and that I would definitely attend if accepted. Hopefully this increases my chances. Iā€™ve also been to USC presentations in NYC and I visited campus.

What do you think??

em1995 I donā€™t think you need to worry, youā€™re getting in for sure

Does the assistant college directors/counselors who are assigned to certain areas across the states help admit or reject applicants? Iā€™ve been talking/emailing my USC college counselor for the past 4 months and Iā€™ve asked him a whole lot of questions about USC. I even told him USC was my first choice too. :)
