I know this is a little bit late but I was wondering if anyone knows how legacy helps. My father and grandfather went to USC and my great aunt who was featured on the cover of Time Magazine received her masters and taught there. I have strong ECās and my interview went really well but my test scores are the USC average and my GPA falls a little below average so I am stressing out so much.
@LindsayRB Nobody can know for sure whether or not you can get in, but at least you only have a couple days tops until you do know.
@LindsayRB I think they definitely play somewhat of a role, whether how large that is Iām not sure of. Last year I knew a kid going into Viterbi and he was also 3rd generation SC I believe, and it took him a rejection and 2 separate appeals to finally get in. It should be noted though that I have no idea what his test scores or grades were like. But I do believe they place a bit of emphasis on the Trojan Family, and my sister who goes there now was telling me that they like to see family all come through. In conclusion, Iād say itās looked at just like a test score or an extracurricular activity-- itās just another bit of information that they can use to evaluate you.

@bigd21 Your friendsā high school couselors were probably on top of it and sent in the midyear report which includes their first term grades. Everyone is required to send in grades.
Yāall Iām stressing. I just got back from LA and the whole plane ride I was thinking about how much my life has changed since last summer. I went from not even wanting to go to college to applying to 14ā and so far getting into 10 of the 14, each acceptance being a HUGE surpriseā¦ I hope USC surprises me too. :-SS

@choirsandstages I saw a video of a girl opening her acceptance package this year and it was in fact a white box.
Well @vimyle people will say thatās because she got a scholarship so I dunno. Itās a mystery.
