***USC Class of 2021 Discussion/Results Thread***

It’s rare to not get a package, but an acceptance via portal, right?

I was just wondering if anyone knows people from Tennessee who received their packages today? I didn’t get one and was completely shattered, so I’m still holding on to the bit of hope that is left.

I have not heard many people getting in from my area of MA, so I still have some hope…not much but some lol

Sorry I didn’t mean many, I meant none

Just to confirm, USC decisions are coming out today at midnight on the portal, right?

Super surprised and thrilled to be admitted to SCA today from the SF Bay Area. Mail even came earlier than normal so must have been a super lucky day!

@piksla Congrats! That’s amazing!!! Do you mind sharing your major and stats?

Anyone from Oregon gotten a package?

low key still have hope from NJ either everyone around me got rejected or we didn’t get our packages

@charcoalatey2021 Thank you! So amazing and really didn’t expect to get in. Media Arts + Practice. 33 ACT (34 superscore) and 3.85 UW from a super tough grading private school that USC knows well. They don’t do weighted GPA so not sure what it would be. Spent a really long time on the application and amazed it paid off!

@piksla which side of the bay if you don’t mind sharing? lmao I’m from the peninsula and haven’t gotten anything

@rawk123 I hope you’re right…I heard of a friend of a friend in North Jersey getting hers today but I haven’t seen much posted here if anything from NJ…I’m in Monmouth county and our mail came at 10 am definitely on the early side…

@thenewstyped We are from the peninsula too – Los Altos. Our mail is super funky so I wouldn’t totally rule out a late delivery. Good luck and hope you get in!

Viterbi voices put up a podcast that is pretty helpful information for people who were not accepted as well as for those who were. In case anyone is interested.

Yeah, it seems like very few have posted from MA, VT, NH, and ME.

@SV94085 you imply that stats are everything…they are not I can assure you! Especially not standardized tests…I can say 100% that my D is more than just a test score!

@wwward You know I dont think being rejected is what makes me really mad, Its the fact that students with lower stats from my school get accepted to all the schools I got rejected from. I think ECs and essays are important but not to the point where you reject more qualified applicants. In the context of USC, you cannot tell me a person accepted with a 27 ACT is going to succeed more than a person with a 35 even if this persons ECs are amazing (assuming they applied tot he same major). Just my 2 cents, I am genuinely happy for everyone that got in, but I feel as if I was cheated by the college admission system.

@mimimo7890 The same for Tennessee. I haven’t seen anyone post, nor have I heard of anyone receiving a package… maybe I’m out of the loop and/or naive.

I really disagree. I don’t believe test scores are a good indication of a persons intelligence. It’s honestly just a matter of testing well for the ACT and SAT. A girl in my grade with about a 3.0 weighted gpa has a 34 act, while a girl I know with a 3.8 gpa has a 30 act.

@minimo7890 where abouts in MA? I am south/central I guess but I feel like I’m close enough to Boston that I should’ve gotten it today. Let’s pray for slow northeast mail
