USC Class of 2022

Hey everyone! I thought it may be a good idea to start a thread for prospective USC applicants/students for the class of 2022.

A bit about me: I’m looking to apply at the Iovine and Young Academy because of my love for art and design but strong interest in exploring new topics (business and tech) and means to innovate for the future.

Tell us about yourself!

Hi!! I am applying to USC SCA Film & TV Production! Learning about / making movies is my favorite thing ever and I hope that I could spend the next 4 years doing it at my absolute dream school. This college app process is so stressful, nerve-wracking but exciting at the same time. How are all your apps going? Good luck everyone!

My first choice is is the Iovine and Young Academy and my second is Business Administration. I hope I can get in.

yay! nice to meet y’all  good luck to the both of you <3

Hi! Im applying to USC IYA as my first choice as well!!! Nice to meet you guys

USC is my first choice too! SCA Film production hopefully!!!

Hi! I’m applying for an English major in Dornsife! I hope things are going well for all of you

Hey, I’m applying as a Comm major hopefully minoring in Film. My passion is all things entertainment but I’m more on the creative pre-production side than the actual cinematography and directing. Hope we can all get accepted!

I’m applying as an environmental studies major! USC is my first choice

It’s so nice to meet you all

So when do you all think is the best time to apply and where to apply?

I’m I’m applying before December 1st for the program I’m going for and also because of Merit Scholarships. That’s the best for me, but other than the deadlines I’m not sure if there’s any particular advantage or disadvantage to applying at any time. They don’t have Early Action or Decision or anything like that so we’ll see

Apply by December 1st, you should be throwing your hat in the ring for merit consideration, silly not to.

agreed

Y’all I just went to USC this week and oh my! I absolutely love it. Any program you apply for im sure you’re gonna have an amazing time  good luck everyone!!

If this thread eventually evolves into the equivalent of last cycle’s “USC Class of 2021 Discussion / Results Thread”, you may wish to scan through it before stressing out unnecessarily about the process…

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/1938675-usc-class-of-2021-discussion-results-thread.html#latest

It ultimately touched upon and answered a host of questions occurring at each step in the admission process. And you will see just how many times the same questions were asked and answered… showing just how many chose not to scan through it for those answers first. But I do recommend at least scanning though it.

Or… if you have a specific question that you cannot seem to locate an answer for, feel free to ask. I have two daughters at USC currently (senior & freshman), so I have observed the process closely twice.

(( for those new to CC, the way to do so, is to add the @ before their CC username… (e.g - @WWWard ) that will trigger a notification to that user that they were mentioned in a discussion thread. if you leave off the @, they may never see it ))

And an excellent thread about self-evaluating your chances…

And finally, this article is excellent - an insider’s guide to how USC approaches admissions…

https://tfm.usc.edu/a-guide-to-uscs-college-admissions-process/

And finally… I highly recommend applying by Dec 1st – you might as well be considered for merit scholarships. This is also the only USC pathway to finding out if you are admitted early. Believe me, the wait into March can get very frustrating… especially if USC is your top choice… as they do not offer any form of early admission (other than the scholarship notices that go out earlier).

Good luck to all of this year’s applicants…

hey guys! I’m applying for the bfa in film production and I’m nervous but hopeful!!- theres like a 2%-4% chance ill get accepted, but I think my film for my portfolio is memorable, and differentiates myself from others!!

That’s great!! Best of luck to you  (if I weren’t applying to IYA, I’d be applying for film production, SUCH an amazing program)

My son is applying to SCA Interactive Media and Games. considering his GPA and scores, it’s an insane long shot but he’s received amazing feedback on his portfolio from other schools. USC is his California Dream.

Good luck to you all!

I am applying for Annenberg, Public Relations or Communication! Have any of you guys had interviews or do you guy’s plan to? I had mine a few days ago.
