@Laketahoe79 Go with your gut and your heart. Then you will be happy. Don’t over analyze, both great schools. But do consider it taking longer at UCLA and count extra tuition and money you won’t make by starting work later if you have a major that takes longer (not all do, but some historically do). And if double major or flexibility in major is important to you. Those are the biggies. Both are fun spirited schools.
To anyone who has gotten rejected: Have you received TTP? If so, are you a legacy applicant?
Rejected, I’m gonna frame it!
@M_51222 you can look up the priority delivery map. The zip code is 90007
…
@olitznation do you know if they saw it on informed?
Rejeeeeected. They must’ve known i’m Ucla bound… :-? No TTP. Congrats to everyone accepted!
ha, I have posted this 37 times, seriously, in the last few days. But here it is again.
PORTAL UPDATE
They are saying by noon tomorrow. So get some sleep if you can (ya, right). But for the last few years they have said the same thing and have started update just after midnight tonight, so Sunday morning Pacific Standard Time (PST). They begin updating between midnight and 1am - that’s when it starts and it takes awhile. Many portals update within a couple hours, but it sputters along for several more hours - brutal for some.
Just a warning - it could be later - they are in charge!
@abraham2311 Good look at UCLA - will see you at the games…we will be in red, you will be in blue.
@oregonkiddo @pdxtigermom just got back home and checked…nothing. USPS transit time to 97229 did say Monday delivery.
@CADREAMIN thanks! And I also want to thank you for all the help and info you’ve provided to us on this thread! Will see you there
@hermione2018 – if you’re in Eastern Time, I’d have a normal Saturday night, go to sleep at midnight or so, and set my alarm for 6am. Staying up late isn’t great. I stayed up in January for the scholarship notification and had no answer when I hit the sack at 4 am ET. Ugh, what a waste of time!
I’m just confused. Do a lot of people get TTP? I’ve seen the other threads but I’m just wondering. My stats weren’t the best, but I am a legacy applicant so I’m assuming that’s why. Sorry that I keep asking questions. Just a lil confused
@droppedit do you think it would be out by 6?
Accepted from MA! Honestly couldn’t believe it when the box came in the mail today. I just applied as a just for kicks school and had no idea they’d be releasing today, probably won’t go due to cost and distanced but so excited to have been admitted
Love when my friend posts his acceptance to USC and says “#UCLAbound”
I live like 40 min from USC yet I haven’t received an acceptance package or rejection letter. Could this mean something or could it be slow mail?
I posted on here about two months ago really stressing out but today I received my acceptance for the spring semester today here in Southern PA! I’ve been accepted into the Marshall school of Business, I will share my stats and they are not great, I honestly do not know how I managed to get accepted but I’ll provide a brief overview of my stats. These should give hope to all that are stressing, please remain calm!
GPA: 3.56/4
ACT: 28
SAT: 1250
APs: 5
-Physics
-APUSH (4)
-Gov/Pol
-Statistics
-Macro
My in/out of school activities are extremely strong. They include student council, Public Relations chair for my school’s dance marathon, the high school student representative on my district diversity panel, link crew, big buddy, volunteer club, a member of the black student union, etc. Out of schools includes starting and running my own service project dedicated to provide feminine hygiene products to homeless women, volunteering as a camp counselor for a camp with campers that have special needs, YMCA achievers, being my local rotary club’s student scholar, attending a leadership camp related to the local rotary clubs, and attending a two week business opportunities summer session at penn state university where I received the award for best female participant and placed 3 in the case competition, and helping my mother run her catering and sauce company.
Essay/ Writing Supplements: I know these were very strong, I would say my essay was very unique as I wrote about my upbringing. The writing supplements were revise and edited by my older sister who attends USC
Some of my hooks: black female, older sister attends USC
Other info: Lower income household, single parent household
Again, I am very much in shock that I was accepted but please do not underestimate yourselves, when USC says they’re holistic THEY MEAN IT and they be able to see how great you are regardless of grades and test scores!
@blueskies2day there are only a couple of acceptances for RHP applicants, one from LA area and the other from Bay area. It’s empty in my informed delivery digest and that’s why I’m kind of panicked. My son probably is the only RHP applicant that applying Thornton so USC treated him as a RHP applicant instead of Thornton applicant.
I live in CT and haven’t got anything yet. Hoping for good news on the portal tomorrow but I did apply for one of the more competitive majors (Screenwriting) so I’m trying to stay realistic at this point lol.
