Oh well my D was rejected. Good thing is that USC was never her #1 choice. She really wants a smaller school. I think she is ready to commit to the Dodge College at Chapman for a BFA in Animation. Best of luck to everyone!
Are merit scholarships (like Deanâs, for example) communicated at the same time as financial aid?
Does anyone know if WBB acceptance is communicated via the portal?
Does the portal look strange to anyone else? My Dâs portal has this side bar with text about facebook groups and financial aid on top of a message about the cheating scandal. Itâs hard to read / blocking text. Is this a glitch of some kind?
D rejected (but not surprised - the only kids we know accepted to USC from our state were valedictorians). Arkansas, 30/575 rank, 4.2 w, 3.9uw, 32 & 33 ACT, 12 APs (passed all 7 AP so far - 5 this year), all state tennis 9th-12th, over 700 hours volunteering (2 awards for volunteering - one from governor), all the honors clubs. Accepted to UCSB (her first choice of CA schools) (and several others in the South), waitlisted to UCLA. Good luck to all.
@Terabyte You do not have to be TTP to transfer as a sophomore. You just need to do really well in your classes to give you a good shot. Read through the very long transfer thread and youâll learn a lot. If USC is your true end goal, it is very transfer friendly.
@LawrenceKid congrats on the WBB acceptance- were you notified of the WBB acceptance in the portal as well or just in the package?

@TeriYaki1 oh yes I do. It is awful. Check out my last few posts you will see where I expressed it is a horrible process. Only for someone that feels USC is the only school for them or as a backup to a school someone is unsure of or if they want to study abroad first year. But the communication can be like you are a second class citizen. So I get it!
My DS got denied, but got TROJAN TRANSFER PLAN!!! woohoo! He is super excited! Do you know how many kids do the plan each year? Just curious. @WWWard Thanks!
@ivygirl221 What happened? On my letter of rejection (viewed on the portal), some of the information (address) was incorrect. Is this what happened to them?

S was rejected Dornsife East Asian Languages. 30 ACT, 3.99 UW, 4.61 W. Submitted portfolio for SDA BA Theatre second choice. Received Open House invite for SDA on 3/20/19 - Invited to apply for TTP which he may consider.

But got this message with rejection letter. the Marshall School of Business and the Office of Admission have identified you as someone we hope will consider transferring to USC in the future. The program provides occasional meetings with a Marshall Admission counselor, as well as mentorship opportunities to support your continued success. @TeriYaki1 A TTP can hear early which is the way it should be (like close to reg decision), but last year TTPs in London, and others some applying with 4.0, didnât hear until later May. Later May! The abroad kids were freaking out. That is insane and just rude. They couldnât make plans for classes or housing because they werenât confirmed accepted. It was bad. They really need to do that better. I have been hoping for guaranteed transfer like Cornell, but colleges are like machines, they work the same way year after year.
@CADREAMIN you mentioned earlier that NMFâs donât hear about their Presidential scholarship until after May 1. Does this mean that 1) you have to commit to the school without being sure that youâll actually get any scholarship and 2) you canât live in Honors Housing? Thanks for all your help!
Well it wasnât the magical mail box moment that we experienced with my eldest, but my daughter just checked her portal (6 pm cst) and she got in! So very excited for herâŠWeâre in San Antonio. Stats: 1500/3.84, dbl legacy. Wishing everyone the best, and FIGHT ON and ON and ON!!!
@collegeiate2019 It is guaranteed, you will get some kind of letter than acknowledges it prior to May 1st, sorry if I confused you, I just meant it is not going to show up financially on your portal until much later. And yes you can live in honors housing.
