@CADREAMIN Awwww stop I’m gonna cry haha! You’re too nice!
I got into UCLA!! and I’m probably gonna commit there. So there will be some friendly rivalry! ?
I ran right home after work haha there was still food in my hair. ?And I got into Scripps! UCLA has my major and is more affordable though so it pulled ahead. Scripps is a beautiful school though!
I’ll flood this comment with happy emojis, don’t worry, they shall never die.
???
Emm … anyone who hasn’t gotten a white box, please check you front door. It wasn’t in the mailbox … just found it was left at the front door. My D found out her acceptance thru the portal, but were worried all day!
@reinawrites What the heck? UCLA?! REALLY?! Good for you that is so exciting!!! Still in LA in a beautiful area at a beautiful school, good to know you will be F-I-N-E!!! What is your major?
???
We’ll always be here in red, see you on the blue side of town!
@10s4life is a great poster over there, super helpful, tell him I sent you, ha.
I was admitted for Fall to Interactive Media in SCA and I’m still in shock! My stats aren’t particularly high, 1390 SAT and 3.8 GPA UW but I think that my essays and portfolio must’ve pulled through! Plus my interview went alright. Best wishes to everyone, whether you were admitted or not, it’s an accomplishment that you applied at all!
@CADREAMIN THANK YOU! I’m super happy!! And yes still living the dream hehe. My major is Pre- Human Biology and Society. So some nice pre-med and global health opportunities in there, which is what I wanted.
Haha you and @10s4life were the MVPs this whole year y’all kept me SANE. Thank you!
@singingbear yes it was on the doorstep. We all slept in, I heard the mail truck stop at the mailbox about 9am and move on so I was sure it wasn’t delivered. Even the dogs who will bark at a sparrow flying by the window didn’t make a peep but I opened the door anyway and there it was. The mailman must have been a ninja today. Just like the veteran parents described, it’s an amazing experience seeing that box.
Rejected in FL. Knew my odds were low but had an innocent hope I could accomplish my dream.

I was accepted! After not getting a scholarship in Janurary , i was very discouraged . I live in the 2 day zone so I was waiting for a package all day and didn’t get one so I was certain I was going to be rejected . I’m so happy that it was good news . I have a lot of options but usc is definitely a top choice ! 34 ACT 3.73/4.27 GPA , from IL and first gen
I am starting to think that some of the stats of some of the people rejected here are not real. It is very unlikely that @squidfish022’s stats wouldn’t be sufficient for USC. If they are real, then shame on USC for passing up on such a great student. Hard to trust all the stats since there’s no way of verifying. In any case, good luck to you @squidfish022!
@Mevalewilson, I cannot remember which college thread I was looking on, but when I saw that someone posted a 4.01/4.00 unweighted GPA, and I almost dropped to the floor laughing. Either schools are pumping up stats and offering AP credit for PE and underwater basket weaving, running a 6.0 system, or there is a lot of storytelling going on!
@Mevalewilson I wish you were correct. Unfortunately I’m just a senior in high school contemplating the same question. Sometimes you just aren’t enough for certain opportunities and you have to be okay with that
@LisaLisa24 I remember there was a boy waitlisted and he was a dancer too. He got into Stanford but still wanted to go to USC. You may want to look at last year’s thread and try to contact his mom.

His grandfather helped invent core memory tech, which helped USA win the cold war
His great grandfather helped lay ATT telecom line for military that helped USA win WW2
As a parent, I have to say, if the US college system continues to neglect kids that can really innovate for our country, and reward kids with stories that make us “feel good”, our country is doomed. China does not do this and is slowly but surely passing us by.
My S’s attiudte is awesome. Dad, if the school doesn’t value what I can do, then I not meant to go there.
@infotime Sorry to hear about it! Do not feel too disappointment. The admission of elite colleges these days is like lottery. With his stats and achievements, I am sure he will eventually get into a good school.
