@WWWard might be time for a virtual drinking game, lol.
@GreenTacoBoy ok that makes me feel better that I am not the only. I doubly checked that we did receive the confirmation email for submitting the portfolio on slideroom along with the portfolio fee. Good luck to you.
^^^ yes⊠these delivery packages are not scanned or tracked. Unless an individual USPS makes a mistake or sorts, they do not show up via informed delivery. The reason that @CADREAMIN and I keep emphasizing this is that the ratio is like 100 to 1. Most who get in never saw it coming beforehand. But it seems that people will keep looking for such regardless⊠so never mind lol.
@CADREAMIN Indeed. Chug, chug, chugâŠ
Two mail pieces not scanned. Hoping one of those is a USC package. Within one-day delivery in south OC. Other three scanned pieces NOT the dreaded R letter. Mail should arrive around noon-1pm PDT.
Should have a Socal post in the next couple - the early mail getter people.
PLEASE POST STATE AND CITY YOU ARE IN WHEN YOU RECEIVE PACKAGE - THANKS!
Major is a nice touch too.
Itâs too bad basketball has the term âMarch Madnessâ locked up. USC could use it otherwise.
@CADREAMIN Your humor in this scary time is very refreshing, thank you!
I cannot think of another college or university among the 1000+ out there that still clings to the 'old school" announcement approach favored by USC. Every other school that either of my daughters applied to long ago evolved into online portal announcements⊠including the Ivies. So is being more traditional than even the Ivies a good thing or bad thing? It clearly leads to a lot more dialogue on CC about things like delivery windows, informed delivery, bar codes, tracking and the like. I know USPS must like it because 7000+ priority mail packages is not cheap⊠but do the applicants & their families still prefer this approach? If notâŠmaybe USC should simply evolve tooâŠ
Just checked âRingâ(doorbell camera) Mailman came already, no package, or I got rejected (most likely). In New Jersey, for all you Jersey people
Just confirming⊠the acceptance packages are sent as USPS Priority Mail, right? Not First Class. Priority mail is just what it sounds like, a faster service. And itâs 1-2 day delivery by high priority to most locations.
@yippppy I doubt that NJ is Day One⊠or today though. More likely Day Two⊠tomorrow.
yep Priority Mail
@yippppy Youâre scaring yourself, they sent out from CA yesterday and it wonât come to NJ the very next day! Even with next day express, it wonât come until the end of the day! Good luck!
@SoCalPops Yes. Supposedly faster. Not always though.
are only the acceptance packages mailed through priority mail? So if you donât get mail within the time youâre supposed to youâre most likely rejectedâŠ?
@wheredoiwanttogo Yes⊠but I would not jump to that conclusion. USPS is far from reliable. The portals update tomorrow at 5pm pacific, so that will be the definitive answer.
@WWWard got it, thanks so much!
@wheredoiwanttogo youâre welcome.
I believe⊠if I recall correctly⊠that the first âwhite boxâ was received in SoCal last year during the next hour. So I guess we shall see if the same trend continues via a similar postingâŠ
What about Thornton School of Music applicants? Will we receive a package/portal update on the same timelines as everyone else?
