I haven’t seen any post about those who were denied. Thinking maybe those are the ones who will know in mid March. Who knows.
I think I saw somewhere that the decisions would be out prior to March 11; which would make sense since spring break starts that week. I would assume that everything would be wrapped up by then. I’ve got to say, this whole process has been painful, stressful and unfair to the kids. Let alone us parents :))
Wondering if anyone from 2nd Review got admitted to their second choice major?
No mail again for us today.
FYI… seems to be what everyone is hearing, but thought I would post seeing it’s from admissions.
Our office is diligently working to evaluate applicants for the freshmen class. This has been the largest and most competitive application pool we have ever seen. At this point, our office does not require any additional information. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Admissions decisions will be rendered soon and students should expect to hear from our office by mid-March.
Junk mail for us… :((
Once again it was junk mail and not the big “YES” envelope. This roller coaster ride needs to stop!!! :-<
At this point I would take the small envelope just so the waiting and wondering is over and we can move on;(
nothing here, either… but thankful for no small envelope from USC!
I am thankful to, but a little discouraged by @Badgersmom post regarding the freshman pool being large and very competitive. I wonder if anyone has been flat out rejected yet :-?
@MB2231 I specifically asked the person who answered the phone in admissions if they are sending out any denials yet or if that was later. She put me on hold to check and came back on the phone to say they are sending out denials as well. I don’t know that I’m feeling 100% sure that’s the case, but that was the response a few days ago.
Thank you @golfmom2023 that gives me a slight bit of hope that maybe a “yes” envelope could be on the way. I am just so tired of waiting, wondering, checking, re-checking and guessing whether or not we’ve been accepted. Like I said in an earlier post, I just want to move on…yes or no.
For all you mamas out there. Two years ago we were going through this process with our older son who is now a sophomore at Virginia Tech. We were newbies at the college process when he applied to South Carolina so we really thought March meant March. We were shocked when a “YES” packet showed up around mid February because we didn’t know and hadn’t been following any forums, etc. I can say now that ignorance is bliss because based on that, I knew to start following for our younger son. USC, however is our younger son’s #1 choice and I have felt it was the right school for him for years now so there’s a much deeper level of emotion attached this time around.
As it turned out, our older son who had different (higher) stats did not get into his first choice school, and he is absolutely thriving at VT. So in my heart of hearts, I know it will all work out, it’s just the waiting to make plans that is so hard.
We mama bears are brave and strong!
@golfmom2023 Well said! I also have an older son (with higher stats) thriving at his second choice school. I completely agree with everything you said. It’s also watching my son wait that’s hard, especially now that Clemson’s have been sent out- he’s ready to be excited and proud with his friends, most who have already been accepted to USC.
Well, according to mail app from postal service NO news again for us today … Last year I know lots of people found out on Feb 17th …Golfmom2023, are y’all in state ?
Has anyone’s banner not changed and still shows photo of museum? I have to assume that means a rejection and it will just stay that way.
Banner is still the same for me. Still have hope though…informed delivery doesn’t show a small envelope from USC yet.
my banner is still museum. My informed delivery doesnt show mail from USC today either, so obviously no rejection just yet :-?
I agree, that the banner still just showing the McKissick building probably means rejection. However, our informed delivery does not show the small envelope but does show a larger unscanned envelope. I am hopeful, but not at all confident. Sadly, with each passing day it seems less and less likely.
Guys - I think you are way off base with the change in portal means rejection. First when early decision banners changed in Dec the banner didn’t change sometimes until 5 days after receiving a letter of acceptance. Another reason is my nephew didn’t receive his acceptance until mid March last year, he was out of state in NC. Lastly, 30,000 people applied last year. The sampling in this forum, twitter, and facebook is miniscule. Yes people on twitter did post last Feb around this time with acceptance letters, count them though. It was like 15 people, thats 15 out of 30,000. I don’t think is a big enough sampling to mean anything. My advice is to hang on tight until a rejection letter comes in. I really wish I had never signed up for informed mail and just waited instead of putting ourselves through this hell.
