No letter here in PA
no letter in NJ
No letter here either. I am not sure how if letters were mailed we havenât received.
No letter in CA. I really was disappointed on how this decision was handled. Why did they wait until the end to tell those that are deferred? Very emotional week checking the mail every day and met with disappointment. Luckily her other college choices are all done on computer portals.
no letter in Greenville, SC either!
@pama3115 - that is interesting as I know there were a lot of people with higher than that also deferred.
(SAT of 1270 is equal to a 27 ACT if you from a northern/ACT state)
My USPS Informed Delivery today shows the small white envelop from USC. We already know son was put on second review with a 30 ACT (but a lower GPA). We donât get our mail until late so I canât see the stamped date on when it was actually mailed, but I see the letter is dated 12/11/18⊠all so strange. Hope this thread will help future years understand what to possibly expect. Happy Holidays to all the applicants!
And still no letter here in CA. Does anyone know from previous years if those in Second Review generally hear in advance of the March deadline they published?
Also does anyone know the stats for second review students getting admitted for RD?
Still no letter in N.J. got email deferred 1220 SAT
We are in upstate SC, about one and half hours from Columbia SC. Our letter is in the mail today, it is dated Dec 11th but its a Non Profit Stamp.
i heard that if you apply Undecided you have a better chance of acceptance than if you apply to a school. True?
Still no letter. Bet they probably didnt even mail them out
My daughter received her deferral letter in the mail yesterday.
Still no letter here in SC!!! Really?? Oh and no reply from our admissions counselor.
still no letter in Greenville SC either. Something had to have happened internally. Iâm so glad they sent those portal updates, this wouldâve been TORTUROUS for my son.
No letter here in NJ either. Does anyone know if the 2nd review decisions are reviewed/released on a rolling basis or via some kind of batch with the reg decision apps? Hopefully it will go smoother than the last round.
no letter, no call back from rep
So only the students with stats off the charts got accepted EA and everyone else got 2nd review? Someone in Admissions must know what percent of 2nd review typically get in and what those stats look like. March 11 is late in the game.
The website just says that the majority of applicants are accepted in March. I am personally discouraged at this process. I can come to terms with the 2nd review decision because the stats werenât the best, which is on us and not the school, but itâs Dec 30th and still no letter in the mail and the email /portal update fiasco was an after thought, so it demonstrates very little regard/respect for the applicants. I realize that the school has thousands of applications and individually we are insignificant to the grand scheme of things, but itâs not like we are applying for a handout - itâs for the privilege of paying $45k a year to the institution (OOS), so I canât help but think that if they treat the people they are trying to get money from this way, what will the student experience be like once they have your money?
