USC Columbia or Clemson?

Hi all,

So I’m having trouble deciding between USC and Clemson. I am from New York and am not sure which field of study I want to go into yet. I’m hoping to eventually achieve an MBA or JD (getting a dual degree in these would be ideal). My top choices if I had to say right now would be pre-business, international business, sports management and political science.

Now I know that if you look at rankings Clemson wins, but I also know that I probably shouldn’t put too much stock into these rankings. I have received a significant scholarship from USC - it would be around 20k a year for me to attend. I have also been admitted into te capstone scholars program. That has made my decision a heck of a lot harder for me, I really don’t want to leave all that money on the table (Clemson would be around 35k a year). But are the academics at Clemson that much better than USC that the price is worth it?

A little more information:
I like the layout and feel of Clemson’s campus more, but I like the fact USC is in a city offering more options. I plan on going Greek. I am stressing about which college will prepare me better for the future, will set me up better for success. It is probably true to say that I could get an overall better GPA at USC than Clemson if I put in the same amount of work. Again, I plan to go to grad school.
Any an all information/advice/input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

USC is $60,000 cheaper over 4 years. There are a few schools for which I’d be willing to pay $60,000 more… but Clemson is not one of them.

USC has a fantastic international business program whereas Clemson is more oriented towards engineering I think.

I am always surprised to see people use USC for University of South Carolina instead of University of Southern California. Even adding Columbia made me think you were comparing three schools, one in Southern California, one an Ivy League, and then Clemson.

If you are planning to go to professional school, go to the cheapest undergrad.
