USC Current Student Transfer to SCA Film Production

Hi folks, first time poster.

I'm currently a student at USC and I'm in the cinema school as a critical studies major. I've applied to transfer to the production major. Last Friday about 5 of my friends/fellow applicants and I received emails explaining that we have been put on the wait list. I haven't been able to find out much information regarding film production transfers for students that already attend USC and I've found close to nothing about the wait list process for this applicant type.

Anybody know anything about odds, process, etc.?

Ok, an addition: I got an email just now from my academic advisor that sheds a little light on the process:

“The wait list is ranked, however we are not allowed to let students know
where they are on the wait list. We only admit students off the wait list
if a student currently in production does not register for the first
production sequence. We only admit students based on available seats in the courses. The wait list does not carry over to the next semester…The wait list will remain open until the first day of courses for Spring 2013 semester.”

Still, if anybody has any info/stories on odds or insider info regarding the number of people usually wait listed, that would be extremely helpful and would put my mind at ease.

I was placed on the waitlist as well. Have you had any updates on your status since your last post?

Sorry for the late reply!

Technically the wait list was open till the beginning of the next semester (early January). Two of my friends got in off the wait list, in addition to one other person. I, however, reapplied three weeks ago. I heard a rumor that they usually only have about 8 folks ranked on the wait list, as least for spring admits–so I was pretty close!
