USC Decision Appeal

y'all have to realize that dalva is a special circumstance. i'm a softball athlete so i have a lot of friends who are playing in college and once they recruit you as long as oyu meet a certain standard u usually are in due to the fact that you're playing a sport. none of us will hear until like the 25th or 26th i think IF its overturned, later than that if it isnt overturned-- i called and asked about it and most calls go out right around that day

yeaahh, just to reiterate what melmel07 said - as a recruit, dalva was more or less admitted from the beginning; most appeals are denied unless you were able to present new and reaally impressive information. still, congrats dalva! and good luck to the rest of you!

anyone get the call yet?

it seems like dalva26's appeal worked because she basically pointed out an error that the admissions office made and corrected - she didn't really have to present something new and incredible because she was admissible previously, the admissions office just made a mistake and didn't notice that...

Congrats dalva26!!

good luck melmel!

so no one else has heard yet?
oh well i already sent in my commitment to chapman

has anyone heard back yet?
:}

here's a clip of my email correspondence with the TX/OK rep cause i've been emailing her with questions and stuff

Hey!
I have one more questions about appeals, which is when is the last
day and time for turnover calls ? I think the FAQ said the 26th, but
when i called the office she told me the 25th, so I thought I'd ask
you since you have been so helpful getting me the right answers with
all of this. :)

her reply:
Melanie,

I checked with one of my managers, and they're officially still planning
to send the emails on the 26th. Sorry for the confusion.

so it looks like emails will go out tomorrow..for sure to the admitted people, i dont know about all the others

Umm i think they are going to call
it says on the faq page that came with the rejection letter:

"We intend to notify you before the National Candidates Reply Date of May 1, 2007. Those few students whose appeals are granted will be informed by telephone on or before Thursday, April 26, 2007. Others will hear by Monday, April 30, 2006, via letter and e-mail"

also when i talked to them its via telephone so no email, unless you are rejected again

:}

got my email at like 11 oclock tonight...haha unfortunately they stood by their decision...i got excited cuz it came on the 26th so i thought it might be good, but no, the email was pretty personal though so I know they really looked again haha, at least i know i gave it my best. I WILL BE A TROJAN! eventually...haha

haha I just declined my offer of admission. Hopefully this will help out one person here...

Man...talk about a wasted plane ticket to and from LA to deliver the appeal..but oh well I'm happy to move on. I'm excited about LMU and i hear its the university for USC rejects anyways so I should fit right in :)

but like PMCharmkins, I will be a trojan sooner or later!
good luck 2 everyone else

My son turned down USC just last night so hopefully one of you will get his spot! Best of luck.

haha i had the same reaction as pmcharkins, and then had another glimmer of hope when i noticed they messed up my USC ID, I emailed back telling them what my id actually was, and I got a really quick reply back and they were "sincerely sorry" they were going to fix my id in the letter they plan to mail out but that they'd like for me to meet with a counselor so I can transfer to USC as soon as my sophomore year...

I dunno part of me still really wants to go to USC but after this whole process... i dunno i'm kinda turned off by them, and I'm liking Chapman so much more, there are actually kids who turned down USC to go to Chapman, so who knows what'll happen ;]

bye guys (for now)

My friend got rejected from the marshall school of business, but she has a connection within another school of USC. Would another school within USC accept her after she got rejected from another?

Got my rejection letter today :(

well not really
but ya for that price id rather
go to another school
and get the same education
like ucla!!

I have been trying to log in to the Trojan Transfer planning registration and I am getting this message repeatedly:

We were unable to find a record matching the applicant ID and last name you supplied. If you believe you may have entered incorrectly, please try again.

Has anyone else tried, successfully or unsuccessfully?

I can't log in either... Same reply... They are probably still overloaded with admissions and the site isn't up and running yet... Good luck with your transfer plan!

Hi,

I realize you may be on your way to graduating by now but I am interested in how you wrote your letter of appeal…thanks
