USC Decision Notification

Is there a set notification date for applicants (besides the vague April 1st)? / Has anyone heard back yet

All universities post their acceptance dates, and they’re not so hard to find, so you really should look up your questions on your university’s websites: http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/faq/admission_process.html

It’s not vague. I’m posting the answer for you:

“All first-year applicants will be informed of our admission decisions by April 1st.”

“Transfer applicants will be mailed either an admission decision or a request for their spring term grades by June 1st. (For the 2014-2015 academic year, transfer applicants will be mailed a decision or a request for spring grades by June 2, 2014.)”

They get hundreds of thousands of applications and the application period ends in January, so why would you think they would be done reviewing apps now?

I asked because many schools have on their website a final date for decisions but have began rolling out acceptances to earlier applicants - but thanks for the prompt response. !

CaliGW, in the past (this can certainly change), those students who become finalists for the top merit scholarships (Trustee/Presidential) will receive their admissions packet along with the invitation to interview for the scholarship at the end of January. The date is not set, but check here and you’ll see when the first letters arrive. In the past, this has come via snail mail, so the envelopes arrive on the West Coast first via USPS. Sometime in early February, USC sends a letter to everyone who applied by the scholarship deadline (Dec 1) to let you know you did not get selected for an interview but that you’re application is being read and you’ll hear with the full pool of applicants. You can search for the date the news was released last year (I believe it was the first time USC put the decisions online as well as sent packets in the mail). I believe they are mailed in the last week of March. More details if you check cc archives.

Thank you for the kind, informative post - I will definitely look further into it - thanks!
