USC definite rejection?

I got a SGR for USC, applied from a CC for sophomore standing, completed 19 units with a 3.7 gpa. this semester i'm getting two A's, a B, and a D in math. I plan to retake math in the summer but are chances of getting accepted pretty much gone now?

Call the school/your advisor and talk to them. The best way about these things is to be up front. They will see your grades at some point and it’s better to talk to them first. I won’t say your def rejected, but D’s aren’t good. You GPA will still be pretty good with the A’s and a B. USC seems to be a very understanding schools when it comes to these things. They may accept and you just won’t be able to transfer that credit. If you’re retaking the math use scores you may have in the class now to help your case.

It’s going to be very difficult for them to overlook your D in math, especially if it was a pre-req class. I would talk to your admissions counselor ASAP, and hope for the best. Anything’s still possible, so don’t give up

Well, who’s your admissions counselor for USC? If it is Rakin Hall, Ross Mankurta, Stephanie Potts or Mark Rasic, you’re probably more out of luck. I’ve heard stories from friends they are the strictest. Otherwise, if you have someone like Aaron Brown or Lauren Hohman, there’s a higher chance they’ll overlook your D. They’re the soft ones on D’s in prerequisite classes. They believe anything you tell them even if the teacher stunk when the teacher didn’t. Good luck, man!

John, how about Therese Sandoval???

i was going to ask the same except about Maureen

haha johngo doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

I’m really sorry to say this, but I’ve heard from a fairly reliable chain of people that D’s all but get you rejected for sure.

Can’t hurt to try though.
