Usc Dorms

which dorms do you recommend for USC?
I've heard that NEW/NORTH are very social but the rooms are larger thant he other dorms.

is all the furniture on campus new? I've seen the virtual tour and the pardee furniture is really old!

has anybody been on a campus tour of the dorms?

The furniture in New/North is not new, but it is adequate. My son lived there last year on the film floor and seemed to enjoy it.

i've been told that new/north is very social

regarding the furniture, i've seen the online virtual tour of the furniture in pardee and in comparision the furniture in new.norht.birkrant is much newer and in better condition as well. in pardee as i've seen online they don't get you invidual desks in a double you have one big long table that you split with your room mate

Could you post the link to the virtual tour, I was looking for it, and couldn't find it.

<a href="http://housing.usc.edu/building/building.htm%5B/url%5D">http://housing.usc.edu/building/building.htm</a></p>

from there you can pick your building and then in each building's page there is a place where you can get a virtual tour.

it's a risky reccomendation if you're really concerned with sociability but i'd say Parkside Suites is the nicest dorm, only problem is it and Parkside apartments are not in the same quad area as the other dorms. Just dont get in trouble there, the head RC of that dorm is an obtuse jerk.

I also think Webb tower is pretty good, and it's being closed this coming semester for rennovations (which is a good thing). If you live on the top floors of Web you can watch the Trojan baseball games for free :)

New/North is a very social dorm. I live in New Residential, and the rooms are really good. They have cable and I think they're spacious enough to make most people happy. The furniture is OK. Definitely come and visit if you have a chance and see the dorms yourself. People have been taking tours of New Residential all day here in fact.

I have no complaints, except that, because it is very social, it can get very loud sometimes (especially thurs, friday, and sat nights). My particular floor is a bit of a party floor. If you are concerned about peace and quiet, go for an apartment. If you want lots of socializing and some partying, go with New/North. If you want to meet lots of people, New/North is definitely the way to go. I've met some upperclassmen who regretted living in apartments their freshmen year because they didn't get to meet alot of the other freshmen and make as many friends.

what about birnkrant and pardee? I've heard that birkrant is a good mix between social and being able to work in your room. Are the rooms in birnkrant a bit smaller. I've been told to stay out of the "trojan hall and marks hall" because well those "suck". I have been in new/north it's very nice they even have magic mike, I'm not sure if you've heard of him but he showed me a very cool magic trick.

Is it hard to get a room in birnkrant? and what is up with the birnkrant triple how does that one work?
