Ok so I posted a little back but I forget to mention some things and have updated my choices. Usc Dornsife is my first choice college majoring in International Relations(Global Business).

I would like chances for Fall/Spring semesters as being a spring admit wouldn't dissuade me from enrollment.

I also made an interview and it went really well from my standpoint(mentioned Usc as my first choice).

UW GPA- 3.60
W GPA- 4.21

6 APs
12+ Honors

SAT
1900

EC's
-US Congressional Intern for Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (MD-06)
-Intern for MD Republican Party
-Founder/President of Young Republicans Club
-President of YAF(Young Americans for Freedom) Chapter(Young conservative activist organization)
-National Chinese Honor Society (1 of 2 white people) 5 years of Chinese. Chinese GPA-4.0
-People to People Student ambassador
-Invited to/attended conference on business/entrepreneurship at Northwestern U through NSLC
-Invited to/attended conference on international relations in China through GYLC

Your ECs are excellent but your academics are below average. The IQR of admitted students is 2030-2250 and the mean unweighted is 3.82

I would say you have a decent chance. As I’m not an admissions officer, I have no idea how willing they’ll be to overlook your stats. My recommendation would be to focus on the why USC essay and make sure it’s perfect.

Also, you’re from the east coast, so that will help.

Your stats are just a little bit on the low side, but if your essays, interview, and ECs are strong I don’t think that should be a problem. I’m no expert but I’d say low reach/reach.

Having transferred a bunch in high school, I really want to stay at the college I go to for all four years. I’m really curious what my chances are for being at least a spring admit though. Thanks guys!

Your ECs look really strong and if your essays are as good as you say they are, you’re set!
PS- Your SAT scores are a little low for USC but you have a fair shot.

ECs look really good! SAT scores may be slightly low, and GPA borderline, but if your essays and recs. are amazing like you say, that combined with ECs give you a pretty good shot. maybe reach-ish, but still definitely a realistic school at which to apply!

The posts by madbean are particularly insightful when it comes to SC admissions.

Second, as the next link shows, your stats are indeed below the averages and you SAT is well below the 25th%-tile. The bad news is that standardized test scores are often used as a predictor of college success. The good news is that they are not infallible and USC takes a holistic approach to admissions.

With a 20% admit rate SC is needs to be considered a reach by most every applicant; your stats don’t help your cause.

Third, your ECs are focused and impressive, the bad news is that you present a very narrow profile of interests but at least they are consistent with what you want to pursue in college.

Fourth, I tend to discount boasts about “amazing” recs and essays, no one on this board says their essays and recs are mediocre to poor. As bigwords suggested, your essays need to focus on why USC is the place for you and how you will make it a better place by attending. Good luck.
