SCHOOLS

  1. USC-Mathematics (In Dornsife Letters and Science)

You’re a competitive applicant. You’re AP scores may show that your school does not have grade deflation if you manage to pull A’s while getting a 3 on the exam. I also believe that your extracurriculars may be a bit lacking in leadership qualities. Write good essays and go to the interview(since you live in southern California). Good luck

Your GPA is low and your APs are not as rigorous as you think; Where is the AP Calu BC (and trying to major in math)?
(Low reach)

My son is at USC Viterbi as a CS major. You mention Dornsife but say you want to be a CS major so Im confused by that. You also say Dornsife for math?

He had a 31 ACT (comparable to your 2120), similar/better ECs and a 3.83 unweighted GPA, 8 APs, A in BC Calc (5 on AP), A in AP Physics C (5 AP). He was accepted as Undecided into Dornsife and a Spring admit so he barely got it. He was able to transfer into Viterbi after a semester. I think USC is a reach for you.

Seems like a low reach to me! And I think he’s saying he’s going to apply as a Dornsife major and switch to Viterbi. @GamerGal27
