how do you "refuse" a grade? Just wondering.. I've never heard of that. It's not like academic renewal is it?

Buy them flowers.

what exactly is the guideline on teacher recommendations for transfers? do we need any supplemental material or is it just a straight up letter?

don't think a letter of recommendation for transfers is required

but, if you want to submit one, then you can send one pretty much, and I'm pretty sure it's just a straight up letter, and you have the professor or instructor send it to some address.

it is for Annenberg.

Speaking of the letters of recommendations, I'm having two professors write me them. Do my professors mail out the letters of recommendation to USC? or do I mail them to USC?

Last question, do I have to send my transfer application in before I apply for financial aid?

Whatever makes you feel better. I'm kinda paranoid so I told my professors I would pick up the letters and mail them along with my supplemental application materials.

I had a friend tell me I had good enough stats to transfer to USC as a sophomore. I don't know if I do or not, can someone give me their opinion?

College GPA: 4.0 (but with only 3 classes) english 101, chem 101, phil 101

HS ACT score: composite 29, English 34, Math 27, Reading 28, Science 25

HS GPA: weighted 3.83, non weighted 3.71

AP credit: calc ab 4, us gov 3, us hist 3.

EC: eagle scout, lots of high school sports, volunteer work

Intended major: Computer science and business administration

Spring semester at my community college I'll take and make sure I get A's in: calc 2, phil 112, hopefully phy 101 (I might have to go to a diff. cc for this)

Sooo. I was looking at the USC website for any random info and Under the Undergraduate Degrees Programs it ha smajors with little asterisks next to them which means its "under the jurisdiction of the "College of Letters Arts and Sciences". Does that mean that even tho if we're applying to a professional school that the USC-CL&S will decided if we're admitted????!!!! or both?! and if so, whihc one will count more??!!!
i just found it very inteeeeeeresting.

woman.of.troy, relax, you'll get in. Haha, don't need nit pick everything on the usc website. :D

If you want to be really involved, you should come with me to a class... then you can really decide if USC is for you.

hopefully usc will look past my F's and look at all my A's.... and how i have improved.

Yeah, I DO need to stop. lol.

Woman.of.troy, for those majors with the asterisks, you have to be accepted at both the professional school and the USC CL&S. I remember reading how someone got into film production but not the actual USC school. He/she didn't get to go. It really sucks because production is a LOT harder to get into.

But, yeah, don't worry so much. lol ;)

Wow, that's crazy. Thanks tresfleur.

another question bout the writing requirement. I'll be taking an English class next semester focusing on contemporary american lit. Would this satisfy the writing requirement, or does it have to be a specifically writing focused course?

Not quite sure.

If it doesn't say on the articulations, I would advise you to e-mail your schools designated admissions counselor and ask what to do.

Here's the list

CCC: USC Undergraduate Admission: Counselors: Your Admission Counselor: Transfer Territory Managers

Regional:
USC Undergraduate Admission: Counselors: Your Admission Counselor

anyways...the deadlines coming up!!

:P they are! aaaaaaaaaaaah!!! i'm excited just to be done with applications by feb. :)

Does USC admission know exactly how many community service hours I've done? Because I was in Alpha Gamma Sigma this past semester but I don't remember how many community service hours i've done. Do I just give them an approximation?

an approximation should be fine.
