[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[li] Essays: I focused on specific, individual events for my one essay, and the two short answers. I think the USC essays were one of my better college essays–I spent a lot of time on them because of my Bacc/MD application.
[/li]

[li] Teacher Recs: One was written by my current AP Biology teacher, who also is my Academic Decathlon coach. The other was written by my AP English teacher, who I was very friendly with before she retired last year. I’m pretty sure they were good.
[/li]

[li] Counselor Rec: I’d asked my counselor for a rec during Junior year, and we talked many times before she wrote my rec. Also confident about that one. :)
[/li]

[li] EC highlights: [/li]Academic Decathlon
President of Math Club
Treasurer of Medical Club
Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (and Symphony for two years before)
Cardiology Internship for two years
350+ hours of volunteer service at a hospital[/ul]

Other Factors, hook?: Main focus–only focus, actually–on my essay was the internship. My short answers also focused on specific EC’s, so I think the focused approach really helped me bring out what was important/special about me. The Bacc/MD essays were the best essays I’d written for any college apps, but I don’t think the general admissions committee would have looked at those… -__-

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: Also applied for the Bacc/MD program, so I’m not sure if the early notification was for the Bacc/MD or a scholarship, considering that some scholarship notifications come about a week after the initial package. Either way is fantastic though–beyond happy right now!
