General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: Most likely attending in the fall! For anyone who is about to apply to schools next year, please take a close look at my stats and realize that it isn’t all about the numbers. My gpa is low but this is after struggling in a competitive high-school after having attending a very low-achieving middle school. My advice to all future applicants is to never give up on your dreams and see what God has in store for you. :)

P.S. when people say “you’ll do great wherever you go”… it’s true; if I hadn’t been accepted to USC then I would have attended a smaller school and would be absolutely happy there. It really does not matter WHERE you go to school as much as what you make of it. Good luck to all future applicants and I hope to see some of the other acceptees in the fall!!

Other Factors, hook?: n/a

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: Academics were my strength and EC’s/essays were alright. Not much leadership but I was dedicated in my EC’s to a few things. USC was one of my top choices, but I don’t think I’m going to Spring. The only option for me to be at USC, would be to defer my admission another semester and start Fall 2012. I was also accepted at Berkeley and UCLA and am probably going to be going to go to one of those two, pending my Notre Dame decision. I thought Berkeley was harder to get into SC, but the competition at SC seemed to be fierce this year. This trend doesn’t seem like its going to reverse itself either. Thanks to the USC CC forum for the support and information, esp. alamemom. Good luck to the Class of '15. :)

**Decision: Rejected **

Date applied: 11/30/10
Date decision postmarked/received: 3/24/11
Accepted at which school/major at USC: Viterbi Biomedical Engineering

[/ul]
Other Factors, hook?: none really

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: my usually-pessimistic college counseling office thought I was a shoe-in for this school, so I’m pretty surprised to be honest. I guess they put more emphasis on CA residency and whether or not you visit/interview on campus, which is not a light expense. I’m most likely going to appeal the decision

^definitely appeal; i don’t think the in state or visitation is true though…
even though you said it was great i’m going to have to guess your rejection is contingent upon your essay if they meant to reject you

I responded to the “overcome a challenge through persistence” question. The topic was from my Guatemala mission trip last summer (don’t make assumptions…it wasn’t clich
