@transferme12 I’m trying to find housing outside of USC housing because I was advised to not really to rely on being given something I want from USC. But it doesn’t hurt to keep your options open haha. I feel you about that stress though.

I’m almost sure I was accepted because of my essays. There is still a really good chance that if your GPA is a little below the average you can still get in! Quality essays can bolster an average application!
@PickleSituations Did your Yousc portal not update with “Accepted” before you received your packet in the mail?

@ckinder my portal updated on a Sunday, so I ended up getting the letter in the mail on Monday.
Yo, i’m a transfer student applying as a Bio major to Dornsife. I have a low GPA (3.2) but i have solid EC’s, and my GPA has improved since last year, and I explained why it was low last year due to home problems. I’m slowly losing hope as I haven’t received any new yet…
Anyone have any input on my possible chances of receiving acceptance/SGR? @-)
^ forgot to mention. I’ve completed ~90 credits at a CCC. my EC’s include being published in a prestigious medical journal, and volunteer work helping in the community. WOOOOOO thanks for the help

[*] Comments: I was so excited to see the acceptance package sitting on my front doorstep!! I thought I would for sure be rejected due to my spring semester GPA dropping, lack of pre-requisites/GE’s completed, etc. But I still made it! I think it my essays are what really carried me. Work very hard on them, I really do believe USC is holistic when it comes to reviewing your application. Fight on!
Hi! I applied to Viterbi School of Engineering to Chemical Engineering… International transfer… I haven’t received any news yet :/… can someone tell me if I’m going to receive a package through the mail or if I will get a notification by email or through the website you.usc.edu? I’m getting a little bit worried…
@jimpgz123 your you.usc.edu should update first and if you check periodically, you should know ahead of time of what to expect in your mailbox. The update does not send out an email, so it is up to you to check. This is how I found out about my decision!
@jimpgz123 check this thread for info or re post your question:

The copy paste thing does not work for me, so I’m just gonna post this normally.
ACCEPTED
USC Viterbi School of Engineering (Postmarked May 20th)
GPA: 3.82
Transferring from: California Community College in middle of nowhere, Northern California
Pre-reqs: All completed, including full year of Organic Chemistry, all of calculus/differential equations+linear algebra, and all of physics as well as most of my GE’s.
Units: About 80 units as of this Spring semester.
Essays/EC: I saw other engineering students get accepted with more impressive stats than I have. I believe this was due to my essays, which showed my personality and humor. I tried not to use words that seemed too fluffy or forced. My EC’s were ok. I’m an Eagle Scout, tutored calculus, chemistry and physics. Graded papers for my school’s physical sciences department.
Applied to: UCSB, UCSD, UCLA, UCI, UCD,USC
Accepted: All of them
I am having an extremely difficult time choosing between UCLA and USC. If my financial package at USC is decent, I will attend USC. Also, the quarter system sounds horrid. So that kind of makes me hesitant to attend UCLA, as well as larger class sizes. Good luck to everyone else.
@sdaw27 could you tell me more about the trends of your grade? like did you do pretty well your fall semester of your sophomore year but not great the others.

Comments: I’m super excited to attend USC! This is literally my dream school. Unfortunately I got accepted for the spring semester and not the fall There’s a stereotype that Spring Admits have lower GPAs than fall admits, but for all you spring admits out there please, please, please don’t buy into it. I have a 4.0 and was still admitted as a spring admit. If you’re a spring admit PLEASE message me! I really think we should all unite! Fight on everyone!!!
