Hey guys, for the USC Forms (Combined SAT or ACT Score, Secondary School Report, and High School Transcript), we can either mail them or fax them to the Undergraduate Admission Office right? Also, for the Combined SAT or ACT Score document, how do we get an official report? USC requires an official report sent from College Board or ACT, but how do I send a report myself (after sending scores through College Board or ACT)? Do I just make a print-out of my scores on collegeboard.com for SAT? What if I want to use score choice? If I print-out from collegeboard.com, it will show all my scores, which will not be in agreement with what I send in with score choice.

Yes.
Official scores are the ones you request from The College Board. The ones you send with the form are the unofficial scores. USC asks you to submit unofficial scores with your application so they can begin evaluating even if your official scores are delayed. A photocopy of your score report is fine.
USC asks for all scores and will use your highest scores in evaluating your application. (In other words, they prefer you do NOT use score choice.) If you still want to use score choice, it seems you would not be able to send your unofficial scores and would have to hope the official scores arrive in time to be evaluated.

Good luck!

(That answer made my day- and eased my OCD.
I think you understand why, alamemom<—You are wonderful.)

(I thought of you - and the posts that are threatening to send you into retirement - when I answered OrangeDuck on another thread… sometimes I know I shouldn’t do something, but I click “post reply” anyhow…)

alamemom, my S only got his scores online (not via mail), so when he goes to print those to fax to USC… does he print the full score report, the one that’s about ten pages long and includes the entire essay?

BTW, USC probably already got his actual report, although he knows he’s supposed to fax something and wants to do everything correctly

Just a summary of the scores is needed - hopefully they have that in a single-page format? As you say, they probably already have the official report, but he is very smart to want to do everything as instructed.

He is OCD, like his mom! But like that other poster, he wants to use score choice (he did his best in one sitting) and most definitely does not want to send his SAT II’s, especially as they’re not required - the only single page way to do it shows all those raw numbers. The “score report” is a breakdown of one sitting, and that’s the really long one. Maybe he can call and make sure they’ve got his SAT’s?. :(

Has he submitted the application? If so, he can check here: https://camel2.usc.edu/ESD/IOL/login.aspx using the same username and password as his application. If they have already been received, he doesn’t need to worry about the self-reported scores.

He is probably going to push the button tonight, so I will suggest he check! Thanks so much.

Exciting! Senior year/college applications is such a stressful time, but it also a great year. Be sure to enjoy it!

alamemom, our int’l school uses naviance and sends everything online. Would that be ok? we have already sent the scores. Fingers crossed.

Online should be fine. Good luck!

alamemom, one more question before he clicks. He has two summer courses from USC, 3 credits each - they were four week long sessions, all day classes each day. We don’t know if they count as a semester each, or a year each. The transcript says “summer semester” but I know some courses are equal to a year course. Any idea?

Nope - you stumped me on this one… I can only make some guesses. Hmmm… If they were regular USC courses that USC undergraduates would take and are listed as such on the application, I would enter them just as they appear on the USC transcript: as semester courses - USC will know what their courses are. If they were courses specifically for high school students and counted toward high school credit, I would list them using the amount of credit the high school gave him.

These are just guesses… he might want to send an email or call admissions on this one. Then come back let us know the REAL answer!

well, they were for HS or incoming freshman, but they count as college credit–not high school. 3 credits of USC credit each. That’s all I know.

If it were me, I would list them as semester. I know that semester college courses = year-long high school courses, but - and I am trying to remember from the application - you specify what school, right? So my thought is if it is specified that they were taken at USC, USC will know what a USC semester course is. (After reading the sentence I just wrote, it is clear I need to go to bed! 'Night!)

Done, submitted, phew! And lo and behold, the HS transcripts, sent Oct. 31, still don’t show up in his application status. Nor do SAT scores, sent November 12 (electronic) according to CB. Have to check into all that.

Also, that link allows S to fax or submit online a copy of his HS transcript himself. But transcripts weren’t part of the fax-in forms at the end of Part II. Is that something he should do?

Congrats! It can take as long as 2 weeks for the documents to be listed online. They are very likely there, just not updated yet (imagine 35,000 applications, each with recommendations, transcripts, scores… to log in.) As it will only get busier as the days go by and Dec 1 approaches, you might want to call today and ask. Next week you may not be able to get through.
