<p>Hey, I know this is a really old thread, but I came across it, and so I would just like to give a little input.
I just transferred to USC, and was pretty active on these forums.
Im currently a pledge of ATO, which means I may be a little biased, but I will try to be as honest as possible.</p>
<p>First off, I dont really know a lot about all the fraternities yet, but I know some and some better than others so heres my 2 cents:</p>
<p>ATO - The most important thing is to know that its such a laid back and happy atmosphere that youll almost certainly feel at home. The bros are nice and friendly, and theyre really social, which is awesome because you make great friends, and you get a lot of connections to hot girls 
Im a rush here, and I am absolutely loving it. Almost all the bros in this house are pretty good both socially and academically, as well as active in sports and stuff. I dont know if this is entirely true, but I was told that ATO used to win the Ironman Championship all the time until USC implemented that you can get points from being a referee, and then TKE started winning…

<p>One thing I dont really care too much about(but am happy about) but I know a lot of other ppl care a lot about, is that ATO DOES NOT HAZE! That’s right, theyve been known as really tough hazers, but the current guys in the house realized that they dont want to see kids go through a hard time like that… Instead there will be other challenges. I can guarantee it will not just be a walk in the park and then youre in. But there is at least no hazing!</p>
<p>One important thing about ATO is that its one of the most ‘classic’ houses. We’ve been at USC since 1951, and havent ever been suspended. So theres a bunch of traditions and stuff, which is really cool 
Also, this years pledge class is actually really awesome I know I may seem biased here, but I honestly believe that. Theres a bunch of really chill and pretty good looking guys and one thing we have going for us is that were really social and make ourselves seen at parties. </p>
<p>Sigma Nu - Honestly, I think these guys are the most like ATO out of all the other houses. They got a pretty sick house, and seems like a good bunch of bros. I know one guy there, and have met a bunch, because ATO and Sigma Nu had their bidnight party together Cant tell you a lot about the ‘inner workings’ of them, but from the outside they seem like a pretty like a house with laid back, happy guys who have more than just the fraternity going on for them in life. Definitely a cool bunch of guys!</p>
<p>SigEp - Used to be a pretty cool house, then lost all the ‘cool’ kids apparently(because their national got ****ed). Now only the ‘geekier’ people are still there. However, during prerush and rush I got acquainted with some of these guys, and theyre actually really really nice people. Maybe not the biggest pimps on campus, but theyre at least nice guys. I also seems to have gotten the impression that their pledge class this year was pretty decent, so theyre perhaps moving up ? Really, REALLY easy to get a bid here mainly because theyre trying to build the house up i guess I talked to them on the ‘all row bbq’ which is sort of a pre rush thing, and on the first night when rushees are allowed to walk to all the houses, i swung by there for a while, then not again for the rest of the week because I was at ATO… somehow Sigep still wanted me to come to their bidnight which i thought was kinda sad… but yea, like i said, nice guys, probably getting better</p>
<p>Sigma Chi - I know one of the pledges there and hes a pretty cool guy, albeit kinda shallow… He went on for like 30 minutes about how he is royalty in sweden(where im born and raised) and how that makes him really cool… but hes never been there, and he doesnt share their last name even, and im fairly sure his ‘royalty’ goes back at least 7-8 generations, which imo doesnt mean **** Either way, im fairly sure he was just trying to brag about money, but when you do it to someone who has more, it just seems ridiculous… But hes a nice kid usually…
Other than that I dont know a ton about Sigma Chi, but they are definitely like more ‘cool’ guys than an average house, and are known as one of the top houses. Im sure they party hard, and get hot chicks so thats awesome! Only problem I had was that they all seemed to be the exact same person, surfer dude from the OC… Which is ok i guess, but i heard from a buddy who knows a bunch of them, that most of them are just posers… Dont know what to believe, but def a cool frat, worth checking out because of personal preferences.</p>
<p>SAE - from what ive seen, they seem pretty racist in general… not like KKK racist, but more in the sense that they stereotype all colored people, and also assume they are all poor etc…BUT im not saying this out of personal experience, so dont take my complete word for it, its just what ive heard… My pledge bro says his black friend is a pledge over there, so thats cool! However, a lot of girls say theyre good looking so :)</p>
<p>PIKE - this is actually a pretty good house ive seen. I had heard that they werent, but from experience, i can totally refute that theres a guy in one of my classes whos in there, and hes really cool(i dont know him very well, but still). Also, even my bros in ato say that pike have a really good brotherhood. And girls have told me that PIKE is one of the best looking houses This might be because of their mandatory gym hours! haha, i thought this was hilarious, but they all have to go to the gym a certain amount during pledge semester Its a great thing though! They make their pledges look good and stay healthy :)</p>
<p>TKE - probably one of my least fav houses… The bros here dont really seems to be bros, but more of a gathering of guys… This place gave me the feelign of a social club rather than a fraternity. Either way, they have 2 houses! This is pretty sick! They have their old house, which is quite decent, and then their new house which honestly is pretty badass
i wouldnt join tke personally, but i have a little inbred ato hate for them :p… apparently a few years back, ATO pulled some pranks on TKE, and TKE made a comeback, and it went on for a little bit, until TKE reported and ratted ATO out, which honestly is 1. totally lame, 2. dishonorable, and 3. just ridiculous…
TKE is usually pronunced TEEK, so its funny when you see people from there, you tell them to TEEK it easy…
either way, pretty cool parties im sure, nice houses, dont seem to really have a lot of brotherhood though…</p>
<p>ZBT - used to be called Zero B—hes There, but it seems theyre coming into their own. A friend of mine is a bro there, hes really cool so thats nice! They seem like a pretty good brotherhood, and for example, during the weekender when USC-CAL play, they get like 80ish guys and go down there together and watch the game/party! pretty cool
however!(AND THIS IS BIG), ive heard their lease is about to run out after this semester or year(not sure), so theyre gonna have to find another house… which is gonna be a *****… being OFF the row can kill a house… we’ll see what happens i guess…</p>
<p>I hope this may have helped a little! I left a bunch of houses out, but thats because I dont know a lot/anything about them and I’m not gonna give you someone elses stereotype ********… </p>
