I heard that USC practices grade deflation. Is this true?

In other words, is it very difficult to get a good GPA? Because I plan on going for an MBA after and grade deflation will just add a burden to competing with kids with 4.0 GPAs from notoriously grade-inflated schools.

If it makes a difference, my major is business. So Marshall School of Undergraduate Business.

In Marshall, all classes are curved to a B - meaning the average grade of the class as a whole will net you a B. Perform above the curve, and your grade will reflect this - So doing better than your peers will net you a better grade.

So if the average grade of the class is a B, then that would mean USC doesn’t grade too difficult. In fact, possibly easier than other schools since a C is a standard as average? I’m not really sure.

Well, a C = 2.0 … I don’t know if that’s really the average. It’s easy to get a 3.0, harder to get above that?
