The USC libraries have received valuable donations recently. Dr. Lazar’s collecton of over 15,000 valuable books included one rare volume worth many thousands. Also received were important additions from the National Institute of Music and Dance in Poland. For future political researchers the entire collections of papers, correspondence, clippings and other material from Governor Jerrry Brown’s first term has been donated.

The family of the late Ruben Salazar has donated his personal letters, manuscripts, clippings, photos and writings. Mr. Salazar worked for one of the nation’s most important newspapers when there were fewer opportunities for Latino writers. He was also news director for KMEX.
