USC Health Promotion & Disease Prevention

Does anyone know what the the acceptance rate for USC Health Promotion & Disease Prevention Undergrad Major?

Thanks.

I have no idea, but I was accepted as a biology major and I just transferred into Health Promotion at orientation haha. I know that there aren’t a massive amount of us though.

I wonder if it would be more competitive to apply to that major vs. other biological science major. BTW, congrats eartheyes! (;

I think it helps to apply to less popular majors.

I’d definitely apply to health promotion if that’s what you’re interested in haha, there’s a lot of competition in biology and a lot of people aren’t aware of the keck undergrad majors! And thanks (: Good luck to you!

I hope you realize that you will see this “competition” throughout many of your required and elective classes as the HP major is essentially a Biology major with a few HP classes thrown in there if you take the Pre-Health requirements instead of pure HP electives.

I meant “competition” as in getting accepted to the major itself, not afterwards. I’m aware that it’s very similar to biology, that’s why I chose it. The health promotion angle just interested me more than straight biology. I know what my major and being pre-med entails, since I’ve seen a sample schedule of my four years planned out already.

Hi! What caught your interest into switching to HP major? I also want to switch majors and I want to get into keck school. I was a biochemistry major.
Thanks 8)

hello! would you ming giving me a little info about HP, you being an actual student. just basic info. how do you like it? how tough/rigorous are HP courses? what would you like to do with a HP degree? if you can, any other info would be really helpful!
thanks :)

I’m applying to the HP major as well! I’m mainly interested in the public health part of the major. I been doing a lot of deep research about the major and USC itself and I really hope I get accepted to Fall 2013! :-)
