USC Help please?

Hi, the USC regular deadline is coming soon.
I am still having problems with the short essay prompt on the supplement on Common app.
Will someone please help me out and read what i have so far?

Im looking if my structure works for the prompt, because the prompt is:
Describe your academic interests and how you plan to pursue them at USC. 3500 characters limit

I opened with background info, of how i developed my interests. (my peers told me i have too much background info) Then i went onto the prompt. I want to know if it still work.

I have 800 characters left.

Ill PM you my essay if you have the time

THanks!

Be as clear and concise as possible. No admissions officer wants to sit and read 3500 characters.
Notice how the prompt says “in approximately one paragraph.” This one statement has probably earned the most controversy over essay instructions. Both people who have written 200 word essays and 600 word essays have gotten in; you just need to make sure you address the prompt. The shorter you can fulfill that, the better.
As for what to write: this question comes up way too frequently. They give you something vague because they want to know about you. Just knowing how you answer the question gives them an idea of who you are. Answer it how you want, just make sure you answer it to the best of your abilities. What you have sounds perfect. If you have a lot of background info, it displays a greater character attribute about you: that you care about your past and learn from it. Answer naturally; that’s what admissions wants to read.
Good luck!

wow, thank you very much for your input!
