USC Housing Guarantee

Hello everyone!

I had a few questions about USC housing. I've searched the forums and found some great information about the types of housing available at USC, but I am curious as to how hard it is to get on campus housing after your freshman year (which is guaranteed)? If I don't get on campus housing, will I receive financial aid to help pay for off campus living? I've seen some posts indicating that most people usually go off campus after their sophomore year. Thanks in advance!

[sorry, i also posted this in USC 2013 by mistake]

USC housing of some sort is guaranteed for 2 years. You may not be directly on campus the second year, but you will be very close to campus. After those two years, many people choose to get housing through private groups, however, you can still get housing through USC, though it won’t be guaranteed. If you go through the lottery and don’t get a space, you will be put on a waitlist. Every year for many years they have been able to eventually place everyone on the waitlist into USC housing.
