Well, I'm assuming you can pay the tuition for USC, which is about $50,000 per year. That's why you have to send them a financial guarantee statement saying you've got the money...

As for the scholarship, you might get it or you might not. It's all about luck--so many people like you will apply to USC that it's difficult to choose--need is not a criterion here, only merit. In other words, the higher your grades are, the more money you'll get. If many many geniuses with crazy high scores apply, they'll get the money and there won't be any left for others. Sad but true. Either way it depends on

a) The applicant pool
and
b) The result of judging your "merit".

Since you are applying to USC, that means you have enough money and that you are automatically considered for scholarship. It's not something you should expect to get, though. USC , like the UCs and many other schools, EXPECTS internationals to pay full tuition and fees, if they decide to attend, scholarship is neither guaranteed nor anything, just a bonus... to give you a clearer example, someone who is brilliant and could get a full scholarship from USC but can NOT pay the tuition/fee without the scholarship, in my belief, can't really apply cause they dont have enough money...

Anyways, sorry for the long post, and good luck!

My parents have enough money to pay, but it would near bankrupt them.. so I have sent them a Financial Certificate, but still hope to get the scholarship. Do you know how many of this particular scholarship they give out?

I am not sure about the exact number of awards they give out. Your SAT score has to be at least 2000+, I am pretty sure the people who get it have 2100-2200 or more though...I think they probably give about 10-50, maybe, just a rough estimate...USC loves internationals because they pay so much money to go.

I don't need to worry about bankrupcy---my parents have no money in the bank anyway! :D
