USC interview - should I or not

Hello

I am wondering if I should sign up for a USC interview. when i called - the admissions office says - the interview is not "evaluative" it is only "informational".

I have visited USC and have met the USC rep at my school. Is there any benefit to my going to the interview. also could there be a downside - if my interview does not go well.

Thanks

Are interviews still available? In the past, they finished up by the first or second week of December.

I don’t know if you’re not allowed to sign up for them anymore, but my friend has an interview at USC next Friday, if that helps with anything.

My question - should I appear for the interview or not. I am trying to balance risk vs reward here - Given that the admissions office says it is not “evaluative”

If you have already scheduled an interview and reserved a spot, IMHO, you should go through with the interview. If you haven’t schedules one yet, that’s different. Then it would depend on what else you’ve got going on and if this adds more stress to you.

only interview if you have questions. It means nothing in my opinion.

if there’s still time and you like discussing/having conversations about your interests then you should defnitely do it. i did it about a month ago and the person who interviewed me is going to be the person reading my application, so it’s definitely beneficial.

I agree with camomof3 - if you have scheduled an interview, you should not just skip it - you don’t want an admissions officer sitting there looking at your file knowing that YOU just wasted 1/2 hour of his/her time.

My daughter’s interviewer remembered her and mentioned something from her interview when we saw him at dinner when she went for the scholarship interviews three months later.
