USC Just Told Me...

So I just got rejected. Anyone else hear from them?

and did your letter say “because you are a member of the Trojan Family, we have set aside the final weeks in June, from the 13th to the 30th, for you to meet with a member of the Admission staff…” or did I just get that 'cause my mom works at SC?

I got rejected too :(

I still haven't heard. WTH?

Last yr they sent the letter to all family. If you call the special # I hope you don't get "last chance Joe". I was told they will tell you at the meeting what classes to take and what gpa you need to transfer.

Lyrical-last yr there were letters for spring admits after the rejects and "we want you to graduate as a Trojan". You might still be in. Several of last yrs Spring admits became Fall admits.

Sorry for the "can't come as a freshman" response. You will be happy at the school that you chose to attend. Promise.

I received absolutely nothing. I heard an email went out today though for those admitted who have not heard. Am I rejected? It looks as so. Does anyone know?

I found out last Friday.

A lot of people on the USC message board (on this site) were talking about the arrival of the acceptance/rejection letters. They had been wondering a lot, because for the past week NO rejections were reported from ANYONE.

So here's what's been figured:
1. They sent out acceptance folders first, so pretty much everyone who was accepted would have heard by now (to make the "by April 1" deadline). That's why no one until today has reported a rejection. (I live three thousand miles from Los Angeles, and I got my acceptance a week ago.)
2. If you haven't heard yet, most likely you have been denied.

A person said that they called the Admission office, and the man who answered said that around 22,000 rejection letters were sent out TODAY. Obviously, some rejections were sent earlier. And USC doesn't waitlist people.

But if you haven't heard yet, DON'T WORRY. You might still have a chance (albeit it will arrive pretty late, comparative to most other kids who were accepted). The above was just what some people were saying on the USC board, and granted, they were accepted but aren't exactly the admissions people themselves. So you never know.

Best wishes! Hopefully I'll see you in the fall. :)

If I didn't get accepted, it won't really matter. I'm going to Berkeley anyways, but still I would like to get in.

this message board makes me depressed...according to peels-05 i didn't get into usc (i havent recieved a letter from them and i live in ca...)...but thats okay, i prolly end up goin to UCLA or UCB (im not complaining)

"According to peals"-- Wow. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be a downer. All that WAS, however, what was on the USC messageboard. Maybe I shouldn't have relayed that information, but I'm sure one would have eventually found out anyway, right?

Secondly: I specifically mentioned that that information I posted is based on theories and observations OTHER USC applicants have made. They're theories that may have no, some or all truth.

Thirdly: I belive at least one person on the USC messageboard got their ACCEPTANCE letter TODAY (on April 2, and he was an American, not an international thousands of miles away from LA).

So... don't get depressed, man.

i havent gotten my decision yet back but thats probably cuz i sent in my midyear report really late

but anyways.. i'm going to ucla so my decision won't really matter

thanks peels-05, you've given me hope haha...even tho its been my dream school for like two years i prolly won't go if i get accepted because its too much $$...i jus don't like rejection..

Just don't like rejection, dawg? Yeah, I know how you feel.

Best wishes then. I also wish USC were not so damn expensive. It's partly worth it though, because I applied to a bunch of small liberal arts colleges that aren't as well-known and are around the same level of academic prestige if worse, and they're asking for almost the same amount of tuition too.

Basically, much as I am fond of those colleges, my message is this: If I'm going to pay tens of thousands, it would be for USC, not for a LAC.
