I just wanted to know if for the USC application we only need one letter of recommendation, right? And it can be from either a teacher or counselor, right? If so does it matter if i get a letter of recommendation from a counselor rather than a teacher? Thanks to all who respond

You are correct.

ok thanks but do you know if it matters whether or not i get a letter of recommendation from a teacher. Like would they prefer a letter of recommendation from a teacher or is a counselor good as well

Either a teacher or a counselor letter is fine. You can also submit one from each if you prefer to send two.

oh ok thank you very much

alamemom: (I seem to be stalking you in every thread) Do you think it matters whether one is counselor (I’m taking the opposite tack of the OP). Pretty sure my child’s two teacher recs are stellar (we haven’t seen them to choose one) but the GC like many is not very plugged in. So two teacher letters instead of teacher and GC?

Hello again! Yes, I would do as you are and send the ones I felt were most likely to be best. USC does not specify which you “should” send, so sending two teacher letters meets their requirements.

great thank you!
