USC/Loyola Marymount

Hey, here's my stats. I visited USC twice (I don't know if they count that) and sent in my application on the 10th. LMU is just a safety in LA, beautiful campus, and it's Catholic (which my Mom likes)

Special things

--Hoping this will help out with my Rec
NYLF tech 05 (I think people here will know what that is)
--Our team placed 1st in our division and top 10 of 180 teams
Outstanding Math Student of the year 05/06

Some other stuff that I can't remember

USC is my first choice, and I hope that I will be in the running for a scholarship. I know my weaknesses are not being a NMSF and class rank, but I hope my rec, essay, and first gen college student will overpower that. LMU is a safety, does anyone know my chances of a scholarship there?

Thanks
andersenws

Dude, I have about the same stuff as you, but am A BEANER, SO I GET THE NOD........But seriously, I think we both have a shot at THE C.

I hate it when minorities title themselves with the "Afirmative Action" ****.

You're only discriminating upon yourself if you title yourself as a "beaner" and immediately think that you should get some free advantages just for that.

If you're a self-titled a "beaner", even if you get into USC, on the long run, you'll still be discriminated upon in society.

I agree stressedOut.

Any serious opinions?

Thanks,
andersenws

im applying to usc as well and i have really similar stats...only difference is that i took SAT (1420), but your ACT score is amazing

i think we both have a good chance, but good luck

Many students are admitted who aren't NMSFs, so don't be discouraged about that. My niece was admitted as a NMF commended but is attending Notre Dame instead.
LMU is a beautiful school & we toured it but my S found it too small & didn't apply. He's very happy at USC in engineering; your ACT scores & rank & GPA are higher than his (his composite was 34). He was a NMF.
