USC MARSHALL IS MY FIRST CHOICE..OR ONLY CHOICE..
.MY PROFILE UPDATED MAY 20.....

PLEASE CHANCE ME..THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME
ANY COMMENT WOULD BE APPRECIATED !!

You know what, I can’t chance you. I’m not going to chance you because at USC, GPA isn’t the only thing. If you wrote an impressive essay, you can make up for a low GPA. I honestly probably only had a 3.6 (I did however explain that I had a lower GPA my freshman year due to family issues) and I heard back a week ago from Marshall and was accepted. It just really depends, I can’t say. No one can except USC themselves. So you just are going to have sit back and wait.

El / Why do you think it’s absolutely impossible?

Futuregirl/ Thanks I think you are right. I’ve never heard of 3.6 admitted but if that’s true,
it’s really unpredictable…and that explains 4.0 rejection which happened last year. I think my essay is pretty strong…but who knows. It is obvious that i wasn’t selected in the first wave of admissions last week…

I was admitted a few days ago with a 3.6… but perhaps that’s because I applied for engineering (GPA expectations for engineering are significantly lower due to the rigorous coursework)

Please people im dying
chance me/ any comment please jesus christ super star~!!

Not sure how you weigh-in, but I guess you can compare it to mine:

California Community College
California Resident
Spring is ALSO my 5th semester
GPA: 4.0 (Includes all pre-requisites such as calculus & both econ courses, will be taking final general requirement this summer)
4 W’s from another community college before I moved back to Cali. Was a single semester. Long story short, many medical & family issues.

Have always worked full-time, gone to school full-time. Currently work for a firm that yields 40-50 hours per week. Aside from all that, plenty of hardships which is making my essay more than just difficult when it comes to making it concise.

Also didn’t apply for financial aid or scholarships. I’m very busy and would have loved to put my energy into scholarships, extracurricular activities, etc.

As a general note, the USC admission process allows you to introduce yourself on paper – to emphasize the life you have lead through all hardships, lessons learned and any other experiences or nuances that are important. The key is to identify them.

I am equally nervous about applying. I never am confident about things I cannot control. That’s just my nature. Not sure how relevant this is as I will be applying to Marshall for the Fall of 2010.

after looking at the official UCS admit thread and last year’s thread i can gather that 3.8s and higher have a great chance at getting into marshall. 3.75 is a great gpa and you should have a good shot…why is there even a chance-me thread about this when there are so many other data threads about USC out there? MARSHALL IS HARDER TO GET INTO THAN THE OTHER SCHOOLS. ****
