USC Marshall vs. BC Carroll

ok.. so I've been accepted to these two schools and I'm trying to decide where to attend. According to the US NEWS ranking, Marshall is tied with Cornell on the 10th spot but its ranked 24th in the 2010 BusinessWeek ranking while Carroll is ranked 9th in the BusinessWeek Ranking.

I know both are great schools but deciding between the two is kinda hard.

USC Marshall - Great Trojan networking and many job opportunities in Los Angeles which is the second largest city in the states. Also, beautiful campus, beautiful weather, and beautiful chicks. Nice dorms and also every year allows students to apply for scholarships if they have high GPA. Annual tuition is $38,570... And also since I'm Korean, it would be kinda nice for me as there are many other International schools.

BC Carroll - One of the nation's top accounting & finance program. I've been to Boston, and it seemed like a very nice place for students to enjoy life and study, but I haven't seen the actual campus of BC before. BC's annual tution is $38,530, which is pretty much the same as USC except BC doesn't give out financial aid after enrolled. My dream was to work in the Wall Street, and BC would definitely be an easier way than USC. But I heard there is slight racism within the school, because theres really little international students :S

So yeah... What are your thoughts?

USC Marshall is more well known throughout the world. But you can’t go wrong either way. If you want to work in New York just go to BC.

Both great schools worth attending. Though I am biased since I applied to Marshall, if I was interested in working/living on the east coast after graduation then I would attend BC. BC has a nicely laid out campus that is a bit smaller than USC’s but with its own subway stop.

A significant number of BC students come from NY & NJ, and more head to NYC after graduation. There is a lot of alumni support on Wall Street… Amazing alumni support and involvement in general actually. Check out the Wall Street Council…[Wall Street Council](http://www.bc.edu/alumni/volunteer/wsc.html). Most of the big New York investment banks recruit on campus for their internship training programs which of course often leads to full time employment after graduation. If you have your sights set on NYC, BC has the supports to get you there. BCs campus is beautiful, in a lovely neighborhood, but still accessible to the city. With all the amazing colleges in the area, Boston is a great spot to attend college. BC can’t compete with USC on the winter weather though, unless you like snow, but, on the positive side, it isn’t built over a major fault line. :)

I think this is a situation where fit is a major issue. These are EXTREMELY different schools especially as far as the students go.

hmmm I see… thank you all for the interesting info!! I’ll still have to think between the two hahaha and I still have to wait results from Stern, Duke, Dartmouth, and Tepper…

stern will be nice for what you want to do: it is really close to WS with tons of job opportunities. I thought they have sent most admission tickets.

I really want to hear what others think… if you were in my situation where would you choose??? and why?
