Hi, I know sorry for another comparison. I'm majoring in business. I would really like if the business school was garunteed, but since its not, I'm really 50:50 with usc and umich. Umich's bschool is definately better, but its tough getting in. I'm already in usc's bschool. Plus USC has a lot of connections with businesses since its right in LA. I dont know, please help!!

Michigan has better connections that USC and the Business school is significantly better. However, as you pointed out, Michigan is not a sure thing and USC is a very good B school. You will have to decide on your own whether or not you are willing to take the chance. If you are a top student and are willing to wrok hard at Michigan, your chances are decent. But if you are a more "average" student or if you are not willing to bust your behind, Michigan would be a risk and I would say go for USC.

Hi. thanks for your comment. If i went to umich, I was thinking of switching to the engineering school instead of LSA prebusiness. And then applying to the bschool after 2years, so If i dont get in, I can still major in engineering. How would this switch affect my chances of getting into umich's bschool? I know their engineering school is more intense, so I would probably get a higher gpa at LSA. On the other hand, the bschools's admissions knows that engineering is more difficult, so it may help my app to show how hardworking I am, and it may make my app stand out from all the prebusiness/econ majors. What do you think??

there was a stat i read on the ross school of business website, and they said something like 97% of all the business kids from were michigan LSA.

Applying to B School from engineering is fine. But you still have to take the required courses (Econ I and II and Acounting).

Michigan just formally announced the 3-year BBA program. You'll be applying to Ross in the second term of your freshman year (March 31 deadline). Chances are you will be taking the same courses whether you are in LSA or Engineering.

Excellent point GoBlue. Niihla, you might as well do your best while staying in LSA your first year (LSA or Engineering makes no difference), and then, after your first year, if you do not get into the B School and you still want to go into Engineering, transfer to the college of Engineering. Just be sure to keep a high GPA and get As in Math and Physics.

If i dont get in the first year to the bschool, can I also apply my sophomore year?
