Hi all,

First, i posted at the individual school forums but i don't know when anyone will get back to me over there, so i ask all of you CC MTers here!

i am a transfer student at a CA community college NOT majoring in MT/acting, though at one point i was a contemporary VP major with hopes of going to USC thornton. due to work, i had to change my major, and am now a French major. i was just accepted to UCLA this week and am holding out for my number 1 choice, USC which i will find out SOMETHING in may, whether it's admission, rejection, or a spring grades request (fyi, at USC, first choice major-french, second choice-BA theatre...and realized after submitting my application the BA program is a perfect fit for me due to their professional leave option headdesk). One issue I have with UCLA is that my VP credits will essentially be wasted-they do not have a music minor, and because of their strict policy of not working in the field while in school, i did not apply for their MT/acting majors at TFT. at USC, my VP credits can be put towards their MT minor, as i have satisfied 3/4 of the minor according to transfer articulation credits.
so i'm tooling around on the new bruins website for the admitted kids, when i discover that UCLA now has a general theatre minor. this is VERY new, seeing that when i was there for their summer programs they did NOT have a theatre minor, nor did they have it on any of their viewbooks/pamphlets as of last fall during application season.
because of this, this has really refocused my ideas for admission decisions. does anyone know about the UCLA theatre minor, and how strict their policy is with working? i have been working professionally since i was 16, and if i cannot have the flexibility to be able to work and go to school at the same time like i have had for the past three years, it will weigh heavily in my decision. USC is big on nontraditional students and schedules and i just love the flexibility their programs offer, so they are my number 1, but if UCLA's theatre minor has that flexibility that i am looking for, then i may have a very tough decision.

i hope this was somewhat coherent, and any help or information would be AMAZING. thank you so much!
