Our S is choosing between Johns Hopkins and USC for a lib arts major with music minor. How accessible might music professors, classes and ensembles at the music school be for a non major? Thanks.

My son is a sophomore at USC majoring in political science with a music minor in vocal performance. Although it took two semesters (and several auditions) to get into the Thornton School of Music as a minor, he is greatly enjoying access to classes and professors now. He finds the political science courses very interesting with great professors.

Everything is accessible for non majors. The ensembles seem like they could even stand to be a little larger, if anything, so nobody is getting turned away.
