Can we just all agree that we have NO CLUE how USC makes their decision. I prefer to just say - it’s their loss when they don’t accept a stellar student. That’s what we said about “insert #1 school per US News and World Report” here. Your loss, moving on. Of course, we knew that said school filled their class with other stellar students, but it felt better to pretend like we had the upper hand. ha.
@sadsenior They don’t call it affirmative action. They call it diversity. Here is an interesting statistic for the freshman class at UCLA and USC. The ratio of Asian to White at UCLA is 1.31 Asian per White. At USC - The ratio of White to Asian is 41% to 20% which is about 2.05 White to 1 Asian. However, with the Asian population at 13% in California and 5% in the nation, Asians are “very well” represented at USC at 20%. With African American at 13% nationally, it is definitely underrepresented at 5% at USC.
