USC oct 15th application... optional?

<p>what is it? i mean it says optional but what would it mean if i didn't submit it since its "optional"?
what is the purpose of this optional application?
i want to submit the application online but there doesn't seem to be any place that says "part I" or anything of that sort</p>

<p>i got a friend saying that you could submit the oct 15th application, i clicked the same button but it says that i haven't entered the rest of the application like the essay and other details which are NOT part of part I</p>

<p>i know that there is "part I" application, should i just fill out part 1 and visit USC and just give it to them at the office?</p>

<p>can someone advice me asap? </p>

<p>ah i made the account afew months ago... seems that they changed the interface and what not...
so i guess i have to make a new acct... xd</p>

<p>Part 1 is optional, you do not have to fill it out if you don't want to. But i think they give you some $$ off the fee if you fill out part 1. but it's not refundable</p>
